America's Favorite Baseball Movies

With the annual hiatus in the Major League season for its All-Star  festivities approaching, the folks from the movie rental service Redbox have released a list ranking America's favorite baseball themed movies to encourage people to continue enjoying the national pastime while their their favorite team is taking a break by watching these films.  According to an omnibus survey conducted by Matchbox/MARU on behalf of Redbox, the following were the favorite movies of U.S. respondents:

1.       Field of Dreams
2.       A League of Their Own
3.       The Sandlot
4.       Major League
5.       Angels in the Outfield
6.       Bad News Bears
7.       The Natural
8.       Bull Durham
9.       Rookie of the Year
10.     Moneyball

How does this list compare to your personal preferences?  For me, Field of Dreams would have been lower on the list; the Bad New Bears higher; For Love of the Game along with Mr. Baseball and Fever Pitch would have cracked the Top 10; while Angels in the Outfield, Rookie of the Year and Moneyball wouldn't have made the cut.  I really have to go back and re-watch some of these great movies. It has been a long time since I've seen any of them. Time to swing by a Redbox kiosk!
