ANT MAN AND THE WASP FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT

How would you spend your days and nights if you were never able to leave your home? That is the predicament Scott Lang finds himself in at the start of Marvel Studios' ANT-MAN AND THE WASP. He has been placed under house arrest for his involvement as the Ant-Man in the Captain America: Civil War chapter of the Marvel cinematic universe. In this sequel to the Ant-Man film, we find him at the beginning of the movie engaging in all sorts of activities to pass the time ranging from learning card tricks to playing the drums while confined to his home.

Marvel Studios kindly sent us a box of goodies full of things that Scott Lang does in the movie to amuse himself while under house arrest along with a free Blu-ray + Digital HD combo pack of the movie ANT-MAN AND THE WASP so we could have a fun family movie night at our home. SCOTT LANG'S FUN AT HOME KIT included an Ant-Man and the Wasp themed miniature basketball and bowling sets, a BONAOK Wireless Bluetooth Karaoke Microphone, some Finger Drums, and Wilfrid Jonson's "Card Tricks for Beginners." In honor of the shrinking heroes in the movie, we had some miniature hot dogs, hamburgers and pizzas for dinner then the kids had some fun playing with all the fun stuff Marvel Studios had sent us.

After a few rounds of karaoke, it was time to watch ANT-MAN AND THE WASP on the Blu-ray that Marvel Studios sent our way.  The movie is currently available to view on Digital through services like Movies Anywhere and will be available on Blu-ray and DVD beginning October 16, 2018. ANT-MAN AND THE WASP has a runtime just short of 2 hours (1 hour :58 minutes) and is rated PG-13 for sci-fi action violence. Despite the rating, I let my nine year old twins watch the movie and didn't notice anything objectional for them to see in it from a parent's perspective.

In fact, I'm surprised the movie didn't have a PG rating to be honest.  There really isn't any sexual content, gruesome scenes or adult language that caught my attention while watching it along with my kids. We'd watched the first Ant-Man movie together and it is one of my family's favorite Marvel motion pictures so I didn't have any concerns about viewing the sequel together.  After watching ANT-MAN AND THE WASP it is right up there now as one of our favorites in the Marvel cinematic universe.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP is full of comedic moments and gags which combined with the super hero adventure elements of its story makes it a great movie for families to enjoy together.  There are lots of people and things shrinking and expanding throughout the movie with special effects that will wow you.  This is just a downright fun flick to enjoy for a family movie night.

Scott Lang is grappling with the consequences of his choices as both a superhero and a father in ANT-MAN AND THE WASP. Approached by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym, Lang must once again don the Ant-Man suit and fight alongside the Wasp. The urgent mission soon leads to secret revelations from the past as the dynamic duo finds itself in an epic battle against a powerful new enemy.

I'm not going to give much of an overview of the story because don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen the movie yet.  I'll just say we really enjoyed ANT-MAN AND THE WASP and I'd recommend you see if for yourself. It absolutely earns A Geek Daddy nod of approval! Full of action and comedy, it is also a super hero movie filled with family-friendly content that parents and kids will have a great time watching together.
