Broadway in Detroit
Tickets are going on sale beginning Sunday, June 9 for when the North American tour of CATS makes a stop in Detroit. It will be playing at the  Fisher Theatre from September 3 - 15, 2019. Composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and based on T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, the record-breaking musical spectacular which has captivated audiences in over 30 countries and 15 languages, is now making an appearance in Motown. This traveling production features new sound design, direction and choreography differentiating it from the long-running, Tony Award-winning Broadway show that originally made its New York debut in 1982.

The original Broadway production closed on September 10, 2000 and is currently the fourth longest-running show in Broadway history. The creative team for this new North American touring production of CATS includes John Napier (Scenic & Costume Design), Natasha Katz (Lighting Design), Mick Potter (Sound Design), choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler, based on the original choreography by Gillian Lynne, and direction by Trevor Nunn.
