TOYS THAT MAKE GREAT HALLOWEEN TREATS

Halloween Toys

Parents with children that have food allergies know that Halloween can be tricky. You want your kids to have fun and enjoy themselves participating in festivities but yet need to be cautious about avoiding the consequences of an interaction that could trigger a dangerous health emergency. As a dad of twins who both have peanut and tree nut food allergies, when they were younger, I would buy some toys and other safe treats to have handy after the kids returned home from trick or treating. Then after screening their candy, I would trade them the special things I'd picked out for them in exchange for the candy they couldn't have. They didn't miss out in the good time of Halloween trick or treating and also had good times enjoying the safe treats they traded for.

Here are some toys that are out this year that would make great Halloween treats:

halloween squishmallows

Trick or treat pails that are made to be like the popular Squishmallow plush toys. Adds an extra element of excitement to trick or treating and also entertaining to play with after Halloween is over. Great for storing items! Squishmallows Treat Pails are available as Cam the cat, Emily the bat, Fifi the fox, Holly the owl, and Stump the skeleton.

For more information about food allergies please visit foodallergy.org. As a food allergy dad, I've found many people don't know a lot about this medical condition if they don't have a family member with it. Most people know about food allergies through jokes they see on comedy shows. That is dangerous! Something as simple as a basic understanding of food allergies actually could be life saving. Thanks for your consideration!
