SECOND ACT

When it comes to family movie nights my wife isn't the biggest fan of the animated films my kids enjoy or the sci-fi/superhero that I'm a fan of but she always lets the rest of us pick out what we are going to see. So of course we have to show her some appreciation and watch a romantic comedy from time to time. Thanks to Universal Pictures Home Entertainment sending ageekdaddy.com a Blu-ray + DVD + Digital combo set of SECOND ACT we are going to be watching something my wife really wants to see this week.

ABOUT THE FILM

Jennifer Lopez plays the role of Maya, a 40-year old woman suffering a mid-life crisis, frustrated by not having achieved more in life. Despite being an experienced, quick-witted, perceptive employee she gets passed over for promotions for not having a college degree. That is until Maya gets the chance to prove that street smarts are as valuable as book smarts. This is a story about how it is never too late for a Second Act.

My wife loves NBC's "This is Us" television show so she is excited to see Milo Ventimiglia as Lopez's romantic interest in Second Act.  Playing Jack Pearson in "This is Us", Ventimiglia also had a reoccurring role in one of my wife's all time favorite TV series "Gilmore Girls" in the role of Jess. I recognized him though from playing Rocky's son in Rocky Balboa and Creed II.

The supporting cast for Second Act additionally includes Leah Remini ("The King of Queens," "Kevin Can Wait") and Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical). This movie produced by STXfilms also features Lopez's latest single "Limitless." Second Act is available now via Digital downloads and streaming and will be available on Blu-ray, Cable OnDemand and DVD beginning March 25, 2019.
