twitter party
Look what arrived in the mail today! Thanks Universal Pictures Home Entertainment for sending me a copy of the film so I can participate in your THE KING OF STATEN ISLAND Twitter movie watching party on Monday, August 24 at 6pm ET / 3pm PT. Join in on Twitter by following the hashtag #kingofstatenislandathome for a group movie watching experience as Judd Apatow (@JuddApatow), Dave Sirus (@DaveSirus) and some special guests live-tweet while they and anyone else who wants to participate individually view the film from their homes. KING OF STATEN ISLAND is now available via digital purchases and rentals to view at home.

THE KING OF STATEN ISLAND follows a young man who must get his life together after his mom starts dating a new man who, like his deceased father, is a firefighter. Starring Pete Davidson, Marisa Tomei, Bill Burr, Bel Powley, Maude Apatow, and Steve Buscemi, the movie is a semi-autobiographical comedy-drama about Davidson growing up in Staten Island, including losing his father during 9/11 and entering the world of stand up comedy. Directed by Judd Apatow from a script written by Dave Sirus, THE KING OF STATEN ISLAND is rated R for language and drug use throughout, sexual content, and violent bloody images.

Scott has been a case of arrested development ever since his firefighter dad died when the boy was seven years old. Now he has reached his mid-20s and is chasing a dream of becoming a tattoo artist that seems far out of reach. As his ambitious younger sister goes to college, Scott seems to be going nowhere living with an exhausted ER nurse mother while he spends his days smoking weed, hanging with his buddies and secretly hooking up with his childhood friend Kelsey. That lifestyle becomes disrupted though when his mother starts dating a loudmouth firefighter setting off a chain of events forcing Scott to grapple with his grief over a father killed in the 9/11 tragedy. Will changes in his life get him to take steps to move forward in life or will he continue aimlessly spinning his wheels with no path forward to becoming an adult?

A movie about love, loss and laughter this movie pays tribute to the New York Fire Department and the blue-collar families that live in the borough of Staten Island. Inspired by the true-life story of Saturday Night Live breakout performer Pete Davidson, shows that happy endings don't always involve princes and princesses and you don't have to live in a fairy tale for dreams to come true. Yet through the rough and emotional times in life anyone can become the King of their own destiny. In this case, the KING of Staten Island.

In addition to the feature presentation, the home entertainment release of THE KING OF STATEN ISLAND is full of bonus content that includes alternate endings to the theatrical version of the movie, deleted scenes, a gag real and a variety of featurettes. Featurettes included with the movie include a tribute to Scott Davidson (Pete's real life father who died trying to rescue survivors from the World Trade Center during the 9/11 terrorist attack), a look at who Pete Davidson is, and interviews with cast and crew about the making of THE KING OF STATEN ISLAND. The movie also includes a commentary option where people can listen to Judd Apatow and Pete Davidson discuss the film while it is being viewed.
