SUMMER OF BETTER MADE

Michigan based Emagine Entertainment has teamed up with the iconic Detroit snack brand Better Made to launch "The Summer of Better Made," a limited-time concession collaboration bringing bold hometown flavors to moviegoers across the Midwest. The new menu features craveable concession items inspired by Better Made's classic Barbeque and Sour Cream & Onion flavors which first launched in 1973:

• Better Made Tossed Fries & Tots – seasoned with either Sour Cream & Onion or BBQ flavoring; 
• Better Made Tossed Chicken Tenders – available with Sour Cream & Onion or BBQ seasoning;

MAKE SURE YOU'RE PROTECTED WHEN YOU'RE ON THE ROAD

Whenever you go out on the road, you want to make sure that you are as protected as possible. We understand that for some people they think that as long as they are in control of the vehicle, this makes them safe on the road, and this is true to an extent. Being present when you’re driving shouldn’t be negotiable, but even when you are there is still a chance that things could go wrong, and it’s important that you are as protected as possible.

So, let’s look at some of the ways that you can ensure you are safe and protected each time you get out on the road:

Safety Features On The Car 

First, we’re going to look at safety features on the car. When you purchase your car, you want to make sure that it has as many safety features as possible as you’re going to be relying on them later down the line.

Make sure that you’re looking into all of them, otherwise you could be in trouble when something goes wrong out there. Most cars come with safety features as standard these days, but if there are any that you don’t have but do want, speak to the dealer before you purchase.

Insure Your Vehicle 

Another thing that you should be doing is insuring your vehicle. Now, it’s actually illegal to drive without insurance on your vehicle, but even if we were to put that to the side, you need insurance anyway in case something happens to your car. You need to think about how much it could cost to fix your car, or the other persons, if you end up in an accident of some sort. 

Insurance covers this if this happens, with you only having to pay the excess which is important, so you need to have this cover. Again, it’s illegal not to, so make sure that you do.

Roadside Assistance

Finally, we’re going to be taking a look at roadside assistance. When your car breaks down and you have no way to move it, you are going to need assistance to come and get you, but you don’t want to have to pay through the nose for this. As such, you should have Seat roadside assistance if this is your make, or whatever other roadside assistance policy you want to have.

As long as you have someone who is going to come and help you when you are stuck at the side of the road, and you’re not going to have to panic if your bank account is empty, that’s what matters.

TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF TALLADEGA NIGHTS

One of the most quoted movies of the 2000s races back into theaters in celebration of its 20th anniversary! This 2006 film is rated PG-13. This limited engagement release will not include any additional or enhanced footage or bonus content, but it will provide a chance to see a flick that many people have probably only seen on television as it was originally filmed to be seen on the silver screen of a movie theater. Disney Pixar HOPPERS Home Entertainment Release

If you’re looking for the next family movie night pick, I just watched with my wife and kids on moviesanywhere.com Disney Pixar’s HOPPERS which is an animated sci-fi themed slapstick comedy with a plot that addresses environmental issues which will leave you contemplating humanity's relationship with the planet. The story follows Mabel, a college student who "hops" her consciousness into a robotic beaver to infiltrate a colony and save their habitat from a mayor obsessed with building a freeway through the animals' home. It’s basically Avatar meets A Bug’s Life, but with a beaver king named George (voiced by the hilarious Bobby Moynihan) who absolutely steals the show instead of aliens and ants as the leading characters. My whole family really enjoyed HOPPERS!

For parents, there’s plenty to appreciate beyond the cute animals in this film. The animation is top-tier, and the voice cast — including Jon Hamm as the villainous Mayor Jerry and Meryl Streep as a formidable Insect Queen — enhances the story. I particularly loved the focus on Mabel’s connection to her grandmother, which grounds the high-tech sci-fi elements in a way many families can associate with their own relationships. The movie doesn't talk down to kids while tackling environmental stewardship without feeling like a lecture. 

A quick "dad-to-dad" heads-up: while it’s rated PG, some scenes get surprisingly intense. There are a few "horror-lite" sequences and a chaotic third act featuring a terrifying "human hopper" robot controlled by an insect. If you have very little ones who are sensitive to jump scares or "creepy" imagery, be on guard! Otherwise, it is a fun flick that reminded me of why my family loves Pixar movies after some of the recent disappointing releases from the studio.

STAR TREK 60TH ANNIVERSARY AT MOTOR CITY COMIC CON

2026 marks the 60th anniversary of the origination of Star Trek based upon the first airing of the television series on the NBC network in 1966 that followed the crew of the starship Enterprise during its five-year mission to explore deep space. That original Star Trek series has since spawned 12 more television shows and 13 theatrical movies in what has become a beloved sci-fi franchise. In celebration of Star Trek's 60th Anniversary, a number of celebrities from the franchise, including the first captain of the USS Enterprise (CVN-65) James T. Kirk portrayed by William Shatner, will be appearing at the Spring Edition of this year's Motor City Comic Con taking place May 15 - 17, 2026. Fans of the CW television network's Arrowverse shows based on DC Comics characters will want to head to Novi, Michigan's Vibe Credit Union Showplace for this year's Spring edition of the Motor City Comic Con taking place May 15 - 17, 2026. BALANCING GAMING AND YOUR KIDS AS A BUSY DAD

If you want to try to game as a busy dad, then you will know how limited you can be on time sometimes. With that said, if you can try to set realistic goals, this can help you a lot. HEALTHY HABITS TO ADOPT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

There are certain things you end up doing every day without really thinking about them, and after a while they just become part of how your day works, like when you eat, how often you move around, what you do in the evening, and even your morning routine, for example. And it’s actually only when something feels a bit off that you start thinking about what you’re doing and wondering whether there might be a better - perhaps healthier - way. With that in mind, here are some options to help you get started with new healthy habits you can adopt as soon as possible.

The First Hour of the Day 

The way your day begins can have a proper impact on everything that follows, so if you want to have a good day (as far as possible), then you need to have a good start. The fact is, if you’re in a rush, thinking you’ve forgotten things, and feeling stressed, that’s the feeling that’s going to stay with you until you finally get to rest in the evening, but if you are calmer and less stressed, you’ll be calmer and less stressed all day.

That’s why it’s wise to give yourself a bit more time at the start of the day, even if it means getting up a little bit earlier (and we’re only talking 10 minutes or so, so it’s not too much of a chore). That way, you can drink your coffee in peace, do a little exercise, have a nice shower, watch the sun rise, or anything else you want to do without feeling rushed.

Eat Better 

Food can become something you either overthink or totally ignore, and neither of those options are particularly good ones - they’re definitely not sustainable. 

It’s actually usually easier when the meals you’re having fit around your life rather than the other way around, because it means you’ll end up eating regularly, choosing food that keeps you going, and not having to think about it too much apart from that.

RAIDEN FIGHTERS REMIX COLLECTION

Nearly 30 years after the original arcade release, the RAIDEN FIGHTERS video game series is now set to make an epic return on modern consoles, thanks to the ongoing push to make it happen from a devoted fanbase. H2 Interactive will release the 2D shooting games originally developed by ‘MOSS Co., Ltd.’ in a collection called "Raiden Fighters Remix Collection for PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch on February 26th, 2026. It includes both the Japanese and international versions of the ‘Raiden Fighters Trilogy’ — ‘Raiden Fighters’, ‘Raiden Fighters 2’, and ‘Raiden Fighters Jet’.

The ‘Raiden Fighters’ series, first released in the 1990s, is an enduring classic that fascinated gamers with its pixel graphics, high-tempo, intense sound effects, and intricately designed scoring system. Now these games are being updated with some modern touches that include:

Retry Feature: A feature that allows players to return to the beginning of a stage has been newly added, which significantly improves the player’s efficiency. 

Beginner-Friendly Feature: A special mode has been added in which enemies do not fire bullets at the player, making the game more accessible to newcomers. 

Settings Customization Feature: Players can start the game with their preferred settings pre-configured, allowing for a more personalized and convenient gameplay experience. 

BGM Customization Feature: Players can customize the background music for each stage, with a wide selection of newly remixed tracks also included.

The three titles included in ‘Raiden Fighters Remix Collection’ — ‘Raiden Fighters Remix’, ‘Raiden Fighters 2 Remix’, and ‘Raiden Fighters Jet Remix’ — will be available individually through the PlayStation Store and Nintendo Online Store. In addition, the complete three-title bundle, ‘Raiden Fighters Remix Collection’, will be released in both standard physical and limited editions.

PREP AND LANDING THE SNOWBALL PROTOCOL

Here's an early Christmas present for fans of the Prep & Landing animated shows ... a brand new holiday special is being released on Thanksgiving Day! My family LOVES the three previously released Prep & Landing Christmas specials about the funny hijinks of elves helping Santa and have been bummed that new ones haven't been released since the last one in 2011. Well now the wait is over!

The elves a returning in “Prep & Landing: The Snowball Protocol,” a brand-new Christmas special that will reach families everywhere across Disney+, Disney Channel, ABC and Freeform. Debuting Thanksgiving, Nov. 27, on Disney Channel at 7:00 p.m. EST/PST, and available the next day on Disney+, later in the season the elves will make their way to ABC and then to Freeform’s iconic “25 Days of Christmas” holiday programming event. 

Marking the franchise’s return after more than a decade, “Prep & Landing: The Snowball Protocol” is the fourth installment in a series of popular animated holiday specials featuring Christmas elves from an elite organization tasked with preparing homes worldwide for Santa’s arrival. The new special follows Christmas elves Lanny and Wayne, whose holiday mission goes awry, leaving Wayne convinced he’s in major trouble with Santa and accidentally revealing other merry mishaps. Magee, the North Pole Christmas Eve Command Center Coordinator and lover of eggnog lattes, brings along her pet arctic seal pup Nog to the office — kicking off endless hijinks.

Original voice cast reuniting for the special include Dave Foley as Wayne, a world-weary but dedicated Prep & Landing elf, alongside Sarah Chalke as Magee, the ambitious and eggnog latte-obsessed Command Center Coordinator, and Derek Richardson as Lanny, Wayne’s loyal friend and ever-agreeable partner. They will be joined by new cast members Manny Jacinto as Renato, the most sought-after massage therapist and holistic healer in the North Pole; Dulcé Sloan as Janice, a clerk at the North Pole Post Office; and Danny Pudi as Chef Geoff, the master chef at the Fruitcake Factory. LOONEY TUNES BREAKFAST AT EMAGINE THEATRES

Each month, Emagine hosts a Breakfast and a Movie showing, at select theaters, of one of the newest family-film releases. The breakfast and a movie screening package will include a full breakfast buffet, a 44oz. popcorn, and a 21oz fountain drink as well as a ticket to the showing for $24 for children and $30 for adults.  The special presentation for March will be the new Looney Tunes movie THE DAY THE EARTH BLEW UP a PG-rated family-friendly spoof of 1950s era sci-fi flicks.
