Food can become something you either overthink or totally ignore, and neither of those options are particularly good ones - they’re definitely not sustainable. 

It’s actually usually easier when the meals you’re having fit around your life rather than the other way around, because it means you’ll end up eating regularly, choosing food that keeps you going, and not having to think about it too much apart from that.

Add Some Sensible Exercise 

Some days you’ll have the time and energy to do more, and some days you won’t - and that’s fine. The key is to do something, no matter how small it might be, and then you’ll know you did your best and you won’t feel guilty. 

You could walk somewhere instead of driving, for example, do some stretching while you’re waiting for the kettle to boil, or even just get up and walk around after you’ve been sitting for a while. And if you’ve got more time and energy, you can go for a run, go to a class, or go to the gym - it’s really going to depend on your day and how you feel, but doing something is better than nothing.

Wind Down in the Evening 

You need to ensure that your evenings become a time you can really wind down and end the day properly - that way you’ll sleep better and feel a lot more refreshed the next day. 

One way to make sure that happens is to do something that signals to your brain that you’re done for the day, like turning off your notifications, drinking a hot milky drink or some herbal tea, reading, or using CBD gummies for sleep as part of your routine. As an 80s kid, I grew up playing with Hasbro's Transformer toys and watching the cartoons based upon them that aired on Saturday mornings. So, we all appreciated having a family movie night watching a Transformers flick. 

While TRANSFORMERS ONE is an animated movie, it still has a star-studded cast featuring a lot of familiar voices. The movie features the voices of Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne and Jon Hamm. Can you pick out who is who while watching the movie?

Directed by Josh Cooley, TRANSFORMERS ONE is the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever. SONGS TO HOWL & SING

Indie folk band LITTLE COYOTES have just released their first album which is available now digitally on all major music platforms. FREE MICROIDS VIDEO GAME DEMOS ON STEAM

Are you a PC gamer? If so, you will want to check out several playable demos that will be available for FREE on Steam, offering players a sneak peek at some of the most anticipated titles from video game publisher Microids. The free demos will be available starting Monday, October 14, at 1 PM EST, as part of Steam Next Fest. Demos will be available for Empire of the Ants, Flint - Treasure of Oblivion, Amerzone - The Explorer's Legacy, Little Big Adventure Twinsen's Quest, and The Smurfs - Dreams. 

EMPIRE OF THE ANTS

Flint: Treasure of Oblivion is scheduled for a November 14, 2024 release for PC.

AMERZONE: THE EXPLORER'S LEGACY

As a young journalist, you’ve been entrusted with a crucial mission: to cross the globe and reach the heart of a mysterious, faraway land. Your goal is to bring back the last egg of the mythical “Great White Birds”. According to legend, they are bound up with the fate of the only country they call home: a land with strange, dangerous plants and wildlife that has been devastated by years of bloody dictatorship.

Solve puzzles, find clues that will help you along your way, and get immersed in the spirit of adventure, the beauty of the landscapes and the depth of the story. A release date for this PC video games has not been announced yet.

LITTLE BIG ADVENTURE: TWINSEN'S QUEST

 First released in 1994 as “Little Big Adventure”, this action-adventure classic by Frédérick Raynal (Alone in the Dark) captivated audiences worldwide. With new artistic direction, updated gameplay, and a completely remastered soundtrack by Philippe Vachey, this remake brings back the original magic with a modern twist. Players will rediscover the enchanting world of planet Twinsun, master the Magic Ball for exciting adventures, and dive into a deep narrative, all while exploring reimagined levels for a smoother experience. 

Little Big Adventure – Twinsen’s Quest will be available digitally on November 14, 2024 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

THE SMURFS: DREAMS

Embark on a brand-new adventure in the world of the Smurfs with the 3D platformer by Ocellus Services, The Smurfs - Dreams, where dreams collide with the darkest nightmares. Whether playing solo or with a friend, explore enchanted or eerie locations and dive into your favorite Smurfs’ dreams through levels packed with varied gameplay in this magical adventure. Each world brings its own unique challenges, offering a fully immersive experience where imagination comes to life. 

The Smurfs - Dreams will be available on October 24, 2024, in physical and digital editions for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch, and in digital formats on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store) and Xbox One/Series.

GOOSEBUMPS THE VANISHING

A new season of Disney's Goosebumps television series begins streaming on Disney+ and Hulu subscription services with all eight of its episodes being released on Friday, January 10, 2025. The studio is promoting the show as an anthology series with each season presenting a new story. So, Slappy the devilish dummy from Season 1 will be replaced with an alternate villain haunting a different cast in Season 2.

Friends' star David Schwimmer leads the cast of GOOSEBUMPS: THE VANISHING as Anthony Brewer, a former botany professor who has immersed himself in science and mystery. A series of events lead Brewer to hook up with twins Cece and Devin Brewer who are spending a summer in Gravesend, Brooklyn, with their divorced dad. A threat is stirring, and they quickly realize that dark secrets are among them, triggering a chain of events that unravel a profound mystery. As they delve into the unknown, Cece, Devin and their friends — Alex, CJ and Frankie — find themselves entangled in the chilling tale of four teenagers who mysteriously vanished in 1994.

In addition to Schwimmer, the series stars Ana Ortiz as Jen, Jayden Bartels as Cece, Sam McCarthy as Devin, Elijah M. Cooper as CJ, Galilea La Salvia as Frankie, Francesca Noel as Alex, and Stony Blyden as Trey. Produced by Sony Pictures Television, the series is based on Scholastic's “Goosebumps” books written by R. L. Stine which is one of the bestselling middle grade reading series of all time. The new season draws on elements from some of the most popular books, including “Stay Out of the Basement, “The Haunted Car,” “Monster Blood,” “The Girl Who Cried Monster,” “The Ghost Next Door,” “Welcome to Camp Nightmare” and more.

CONSCRIPT VIDEO GAME COMES TO NINTENDO SWITCH

Team17 Digital and astragon Entertainment have announced a physical Deluxe Edition of the survival horror game CONSCRIPT is now available for Nintendo Switch at Amazon.com. The original release of the video game is also still available digitally for the Switch through Nintendo. The Deluxe Edition contains two additional digital DLC packs. The ‘Golden Gun Pack’ offers an additional weapon skin, a gold-plated Chinese replica of the Mauser C96 pistol. The ‘Trench Raider Pack’ contains the three additional uniforms ‘Elite Trench Raider, ‘Pilot’ and ‘English Tommy’.

CONSCRIPT takes players deep into the trenches of World War 1, offering a survival-horror experience inspired by the classics of the genre. Set in the Battle of Verdun in 1916, they’ll take on the role of a lone French soldier searching for his missing brother, scavenging for supplies, surviving intense combat with enemy soldiers, and solving complex puzzles. The game was created by Australian Catchweight Studio led by solo developer Jordan Mochi.

Features of the video game include:

• Gameplay variation: Classic survival horror gameplay at the time of the Battle of Verdun with high replay value, different difficulty levels and multiple endings.
•  Survival: Fight against enemy soldiers with close combat and firearms from the First World War in an intense, harrowing atmosphere, which is further emphasized by the aesthetics of the pixel art and the oppressive sound design. 
•  Explore: Complex, interconnected WW1 areas, challenging environmental puzzles and advanced resource management.

RAILROADS ONLINE VIDEO GAME COMES TO PLAYSTATION AND XBOX

For those of you who share Sheldon Cooper's love of locomotives, you'll be GEEKED to know that the PC railway train simulator RAILROADS ONLINE is coming to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S video game consoles.  In Railroads Online, developed by Stefan Kelnberger and published by astragon Entertainment, players create the railroad network of their dreams alone or in a multiplayer with up to 16 players. In a large open game world, rails, switches, and stations must be built to transport different goods in authentic locomotives. The game uses the advanced physics systems of the Unreal Engine to create the most authentic railroad simulation possible, rendering collisions and forces dynamically in real time for maximum immersion. Railroads Online will be released digitally this Fall priced at $39.99.

In the game more than 20 authentic locomotives are available for transporting different goods. These locomotives hail from the golden era of steam engines in the United States, spanning from the 1870s — when steam power was rapidly transforming transportation — through to the height of steam locomotive innovation in the early 1900s. 

Among the collection are legendary models like the Montezuma, renowned Baldwin steam engines, the powerful Class 125, and the iconic "Betsy". Many of the steam locomotives featured in Railroads Online no longer exist or a very limited number are still around. The development team used specialist magazines, preserved documents, and surviving models in North American museums to recreate these locomotives as faithfully as possible in the game.

ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK?

Nickelodeon relaunched the ‘90s kids’ cult classic, Are You Afraid of the Dark? in 2019 with three more seasons of the show featuring all - new Midnight Society groups of kids who tell terrifying tales that lead to spooky and shocking revelations. Available beginning October 15, 2024 from Paramount Home Entertainment and Nickelodeon will be a three disc DVD collection containing 2019's Are You Afraid of the Dark?, 2021's Are You Afraid of the Dark? SEPTEMBER BREAKFAST AND A MOVIE AT MICHIGAN EMAGINE THEATRES

Each month, Emagine hosts a Breakfast and a Movie showing, at select theaters, of one of the newest family-film releases.
