I'm going to be binge watching the HBO tv series DUNE: PROPHECY this weekend courtesy of Warner Bros Discovery Home Entertainment. The complete first season of the show will be hitting store shelves May 13 on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD discs, but thanks to WB I'm getting my hands on the home video release a few days early. I made a big mistake drinking a large ICEE during a three hour plus movie that submerses its audience into watery settings and not think having to escape the theatre for a pee break would be inevitable. Fortunately, I can see the scenes missed while in the movie theatre bathroom plus three more hours of bonus extras now that AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATERis available on digital to add to home entertainment video libraries. This science fiction flick that received four Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, is available from all major digital retailers including Prime Video, Apple TV, Vudu and Movies Anywhere.
To celebrate the digital release of Avatar: The Way of Water, fans can continue to participate in the “Keep Our Oceans Amazing'' campaign, which launched with the theatrical release of the movie. This initiative supports The Nature Conservancy (TNC) and its work to protect 10 of our oceans’ amazing animals and their habitats, connected to the beauty of Pandora. From now through July 31, 2023, fans can create their very own Avatar-inspired ocean creature. For every creature created in the Virtual Pandoran Ocean, Disney U.S. will give $5 to TNC U.S. to help them achieve their global goal of protecting 10 percent of the ocean by 2030.
Avatar: The Way of Water reaches new heights and explores undiscovered depths as James Cameron returns to the world of Pandora in this emotionally packed action adventure. Set more than a decade after the events of the first Avatar film, The Way of Water launches the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure. All of this against the breathtaking backdrop of Pandora, where audiences are introduced to new Na’vi cultures and a range of exotic sea creatures that populate the majestic oceans. Nominated for numerous Academy Awards® including Best Picture, the James Cameron-directed film became the third highest-grossing box office film of all-time and set a new benchmark for visual effects.
AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER is rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America for sequences of strong violence and intense action, partial nudity, and some strong language. It has a runtime of approximately 192 minutes. Bonus content for the home video digital release include:

My twins have grown up with the Minions. Despicable Me was one of the first Hollywood movies they ever saw and they adore the loveable losers that are minions of that film's anti-villain. My son and daughter went BANANAS when they found out that we were having an end of summer family movie night watching MINIONS: THE RISE OF GRU courtesy of Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. The newest movie in the Despicable Me franchise of films is now available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and Digital to add to your home entertainment video library.
The kids were geeked that this movie provides an origin story on how Gru and the Minions become a villainous team. Plus, in addition to the animated feature length theatrical animated film, the home video release edition of MINIONS: THE RISE OF GRU is full of the goodies that we come to expect when movies are released on Digital as well as Blu-ray and 4K Ultra HD discs. When you bring this movie home, bonus content includes two all-new mini movies, hilarious outtakes, a how-to draw (& animate) lesson with co-director Brad Ableson and tons of activities the whole family can enjoy.
Long before he becomes the master of evil, Gru is just a 12-year-old boy in 1980s suburbia, plotting to take over the world from his basement. When the infamous supervillain group, the Vicious 6, ousts their leader, Gru attempts to join their ranks but soon finds himself the mortal enemy of the apex of evil. With Gru on the run, the Minions attempt to learn martial arts to help save him, and Gru discovers that even bad guys need a little help from their friends. Packed with the franchise’s signature subversive humor, MINIONS: THE RISE OF GRU features more thrilling action than any Despicable Me film ever before!
Interestingly, while the Minions stole the show in the Despicable Me films, Gru is the standout in this MINIONS movie. And that works well because the Minions perform the same old same old antics in this film while Gru is refreshingly funny and likeable, well as much so as a pre-teen boy who dreams of being a "super villain" can be. And while I have to admit starting to become somewhat tired of the Minions, Gru kept my interest in this story with his youthfulness adding some new energy to the franchise.
My kids still laughed throughout the movie at the Minions hijinks so for them that never gets old. I actually got a big chuckle realizing that many of the villains in the MINIONS: RISE OF GRU are actors with a tough guy and gal reputation including Jean Claude Van-Damme (Jean Clawed), Dolph Lundgren (Svengeance), Danny Trejo (Stronghold) and Lucy Lawless (Nun-Chuck). So, everyone in our family found funny moments in this adventure-comedy.
MINIONS: THE RISE OF GRU earned a Geek Daddy nod of approval because after four movies this film was still very enjoyable to view and left us looking forward to more adventures with Gru and the Minions. I hear Despicable Me 4 is coming to movie theaters on July 3, 2024!
MINIONS: THE RISE OF GRU is rated PG for action, violence and rude humor. It has a run time of one hour and twenty-seven minutes. Overall, my whole family enjoyed watching the film, so in my opinion it is a great selection that both parents and children can enjoy watching together for a movie night.

Thank you Warner Bros Home Entertainment for providing ageekdaddy.com with a free 4K Ultra HD disc of the DC Animated Movie CATWOMAN: HUNTED
Warner Bros Animation really doesn't get enough credit for the excellent DC Comics stories that they transform into the movies. That may because these flicks are cartoons instead of live action movies or are release straight to home video instead of playing in theaters; but I have to say their DC Animated Movies are great and I have become a big fan enjoying them more than some of the big blockbuster superhero films that I've seen.
So, I was geeked to be provided with the newest DC Animated Movie a few days before its official February 8 retail release. Everyone’s favorite felonious feline takes action, adventure and theft to new heights – and in an entrancing anime style – in Catwoman: Hunted which will be available to view via 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and Digital. Rated PG-13 for violence, bloody images, and suggestive material while being an animated film it is aimed for teen and adult viewers rather than being family movie night appropriate to watch with young kiddos. Superhero movies aren't just for kids and especially when it comes to the DC Animated Movies it is important to check the MPAA rating if you are a parent looking for something to watch with children.
In this all-new, original animated movie, Catwoman: Hunted, Selina Kyle (aka Catwoman) attempts to steal a priceless jewel which puts her squarely in the crosshairs of both a powerful consortium of villains and the ever-resourceful Interpol, not to mention Batwoman. That might just be enough to contain the infamous cat burglar. Or maybe not!
When adding Catwoman: Hunted to your home entertainment video library in addition to the feature presentation the following bonus content is also included: When The Hunter Becomes The Hunted (New Featurette) – When does the hunter become the hunted? In this case it’s when Selina Kyle steals the “Cat’s Eye” emerald and Batwoman informs her, “Congratulations, Selina, you just became Leviathan’s No. 1 target.” Those targeting Catwoman include wave after wave of assassins, ninjas, and Super-Villains – from Tobias Whale, Black Mask, Cheshire and Nosferata to Solomon Grundy, Talia al Ghul and Cheetah. In this all-new featurette, our experts break down the backstory of each integral villain.
Catwoman: The Feline Femme Fatale – Watch the documentary on Catwoman's history.
Catwoman: Hunted kicks off an impressive slate of DC-centric animated films coming in 2022 from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Following Catwoman: Hunted, the 2022 releases include two new entries to the popular DC Universe movies and DC Animated Movies canons – Green Lantern: Beware My Power and Battle of the Super Sons. The year will also see the presentation of DC Showcase - Constantine: House of Mystery, the latest compilation of animated shorts anchored by a story involving the Hellblazer himself; and the highly anticipated 4K Ultra HD release of Batman: The Long Halloween - Deluxe Edition, which ramps up the R-rated action across both halves of the acclaimed film, now melded together as one dynamic thriller. There will be a lot of super action when it comes to DC Animated Movies this year!

In honor of the 20th anniversary of the debut of the first season of television show SMALLVILLE, Warner Bros Home Entertainment is releasing on October 19, 2021 a box set that for the first time includes all 218 episodes of the series on Blu-Ray. Smallville: The Complete Series 20th Anniversary Edition also includes 28 hours from all 10 seasons. Whether you watched this tv show when it first aired like I did or are a superhero fan who wants to binge watch this series for the first time, THE COMPLETE SERIES: SMALLVILLE is a great addition to your home entertainment video library.
The tv show follows the life of teenage Clark Kent growing up in the small town of Smallville, Kansas as he evolves into the hero we all know as Superman. Next to Christopher Reeve, Tom Welling is my second-favorite actor to portray the role of the Man of Steel and Michael Rosenbaum provides my favorite adaption of Lex Luther when it comes to the movies or television. The slew of DC Comics inspired television shows airing on The CW television network now wouldn't be occurring if it wasn't for the successful Emmy-winning 10-season run of SMALLVILLE.
Check out this 20th Anniversary reunion interview at this year's DC FanDome with actors Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum reflecting back on their time filming SMALLVILLE:

Paramount Home Entertainment provided this blog with a free Blu-ray of A Quiet Place 2-Movie Collection
A QUIET PLACE was one of those movies I really wanted to see in a theater but never was never able to get around to it. Eventually, A QUIET PLACE PART 2 arrive at theaters but since I hadn't seen the original and was still leery of going out to see movie because of pandemic I passed on that, but I really want to see both films. I'm finally going to watch both movies now that both films have just been released together in a 2-Movie Blu-ray + Digital pack for people to add to their home entertainment video libraries. Geeked for weekend of frightening fun enjoying this science fiction / horror saga.
A QUIET PLACE follows the Abbot family, Lee (John Krasinski), his wife Evelyn (Emily Brunt) and their children as they struggle to survive in a post-apocalyptic world that has been devastated by extraterrestrial monsters that use sound to hunt humans as prey. These alien creatures are covered in armor-like skin that bullets just bounce off of. The Abbot's attempt to scavenge for supplies and lay low hiding from these predators without making any noise. Living a life without making noise isn't easy and eventually the Abbots have to confront these beasts because they find there is no place to run.
A QUIET PLACE PART 2 starts off showing the first days of the alien infestation that occurred before the story in the original film begins. It then time jumps to a point after the ending of A QUIET PLACE to show where the Abbot family is now following the conclusion of the first movie. In A QUIET PLACE 2, Lee and Evelyn decide they can no longer stay in isolation hoping to fend for themselves, so they take their kids on a quest to find fellow survivors to band together with. It is really quiet out in the world. Are there other people they can united with to work towards creating a safe future?
Both movies are rated PG-13 by the Motion Picture Association of America for terror, violence and bloody/disturbing images. The Halloween season is approaching making this a great time to watch these movies at home for some terror-ific fun on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD or Digital. A great aspect of movies being released to home video is the bonus content included with the feature presentation. This two movie combo pack includes a variety of additional segments to compliment the movies.
Follow Krasinksi, who also directed the movies, on the set of A QUIET PLACE 2 as he details the cast and crew's incredible work in a video Director's Diary; uncover the secrets of the monstrous invaders in a "Pulling Back the Curtains" featurette; dig into the two-film character arc of daughter Regan in "Regan's Journey" short video; watch a breakdown of the exciting marina scene from the new movie; and find out how the movies' extraordinary visual and sound effects were accomplished in a video that provides a behind-the-scenes look. Plus the combo pack includes the bonus content from the original home video release of A QUIET PLACE. Lots of extras to delve into!
