ERASER REBORN MOVIE GIVEAWAY

ERASURE REBORN MOVIE GIVEAWAY

U.S. Marshal Mason Pollard specializes in "erasing" people -- faking the deaths of high-risk witnesses. With the technological advances of the last 25 years, the game has upgraded, and it's just another day at the office when he's assigned to Rina Kimura, a crime boss' wife who's decided to turn state's evidence. As the two flee to Cape Town, South Africa, with a team of merciless assassins on their trail, Pollard discovers he's been set up. Double-crossed and fueled by adrenaline, he needs to be at the top of his game, or he'll be the one who's erased. Permanently!

ERASER:REBORN is the next chapter to 1996's Eraser, the Chuck Russell directed action thriller, that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as a U.S. Marshall assigned to "erase" the identity of a witness he is assigned to protect. That film which also starred Vanessa Williams, James Caan and James Coburn grossed around $242 million in worldwide box office sales.

Who is interested in checking out the next chapter in the Eraser movie franchise? I have a digital code for ERASER: REBORN to giveaway courtesy of Warner Bros Home Entertainment. ERASER:REBORN is rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America for violence and language with a feature presentation runtime of approximately 102 minutes.

One lucky entrant in this Geek Daddy giveaway will be selected to receive a digital code to add the film to their home entertainment video library via moviesanywhere.com. Just complete the rafflecopter entries below by 11:59 pm on Sunday, September 25, 2022 for a chance to win ERASER:REBORN. Must be a United States resident over 18 years old to participate. Good luck!

THE KINGS MAN

Thank you 20th Century Studios for providing ageekdaddy.com with a complimentary digital movie code for The King's Man

I've been intrigued about watching the first two Kingsman action-comedy films about a fictional British secret service agency based upon my affinity for James Bond, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., Get Smart and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen stories. Up to now I haven't gotten around to watching the first two films yet; but I guess that works out because this weekend I'll be streaming on Movies Anywhere the third in the series which is a prequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) and Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017). So, while starting out with the third film, I'm actually starting the story from the beginning by watching The King's Man first.

The King's Man is available now on Digital and is being released February 22 on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD. Set during WWI, The King’s Man tells the exhilarating origin story of Kingsman, the world’s very first independent intelligence agency. As a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions across the globe, one man must race against time to stop them. The King's Man is rated R by the Motion Picture Association of America for strong/bloody violence, language and some sexual material.

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON THE HIDDEN WORLD

SPONSORED BY UNIVERSAL PICTURES HOME ENTERTAINMENT
My family loves the HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON movies from DreamWorks Animation. The twins have grown up watching them with the first film debuting when my son and daughter were in preschool, the second came out when they were in kindergarten and the final movie in the trilogy, THE HIDDEN WORLD, arrived as the kids are nearing the end of elementary school. There is a special place in our hearts for these DreamWorks Dragons movies for the way they have delighted my kids over the years and provided great childhood memories of us enjoying the films as a family.

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 3: THE HIDDEN WORLD will be available to add to your home entertainment library on Blu-ray and DVD beginning May 21, 2019. HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON movies are ones my family watches over and over again. So I absolutely give A Geek Daddy nod of approval to adding THE HIDDEN WORLD to your video collection.

In HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON 3, Hiccup discovers Toothless isn't the only Night Fury. Based upon that discovery he seeks out "The Hidden World", a secret land full of dragons, before a tyrant named Grimmel can find it first. As Hiccup fulfills his dream of creating a peaceful dragon utopia, Toothless' discovery of an untamed, elusive mate draws the Night Fury away.

HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON THE HIDDEN WORLD will be available on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital on May 21, 2019

Disney Pixar COCO Coloring Pages

Disney Pixar as part of its announcement of the home entertainment video release of COCO kindly sent a complimentary Blu-ray + DVD + Digital movie pack of the animated film my way to enjoy. My daughter and I had really liked seeing COCO when it was at the theaters and I'd given it A Geek Daddy nod of approval for combining an excellent dramatic script, entertaining musical performances, and impressive visual elements into a fantastic film for a movie review.  My son and wife hadn't seen the movie yet though so we were excited to add it to our home entertainment library and watch it for a family movie night.

Available now via Blu-ray, Cable On Demand, Digital Download / Streaming, and DVD, this movie takes viewers on a Dia De Muertos holiday themed adventure through the Land of the Dead.  This isn't a scary journey though but rather a family-friendly tale.  While COCO does feature skeletons as some of the main characters they are more charming than terrifying promoting themes of respecting and valuing one's ancestry, culture and family.

The story within the 2018 Golden Globe WINNER for Best Animated Motion Picture revolves around a twelve year old boy named Miguel. Despite his family's baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself in the stunning and colorful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector, and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel's family history.

Based upon the Mexican theme of the movie, I picked up take-out from Del Taco for dinner on our COCO family movie night.  Then my kids enjoyed themselves for awhile with some coloring pages featuring characters from the movie.  I've included them below so you can download and print them out to use for your own COCO family movie night.  Then we watched the COCO Blu-ray on TV.  It was a hit with the whole family as my wife and son seeing it for the first time liked it as much as my daughter and I had during the theatrical screening.

Of course the home entertainment edition of COCO also comes with lots of extra features included with the movie.  There is more than 2 hours of bonus material focused on artistry of the film and the music within it.  Plus there is a skew of concept art and deleted scenes that didn't make it into the final movie like this one:

FUN FACTS

While watching the movie here are a few fun facts to keep in mind and look out for in COCO:
  • All of the guitar playing in COCO is technically accurate. Filmmakers videotaped musicians playing each song and strapped GoPros to their guitars to give animators reference footage. Special effects simulate the guitar strings vibrating to make the motion blur of guitar-playing look good.
  • The shoemaking facilities in COCO were inspired by a real shoemaker’s shop in Oaxaca, Mexico. To showcase this generations-old business, artists included details like rolls of leather in the back of a truck, defunct shoemaking tools stored in the attic, and even an old Rivera Family Shoemakers sign near the entrance to Miguel’s attic hideout.
  • The film's creative team was so dazzled by the vibrant alebrijes they saw in their travels throughout Mexico doing research for the movie, they wanted to incorporate the folk art into the story. The alebrijes are brought to life in COCO as dynamic spirit guides throughout the Land of the Dead.
  • When Miguel stops to check out a table of alebrijes in Santa Cecilia there are two small clownfish alebrije included in the scene that were inspired by Marlin and Nemo from “Finding Dory.” Other veteran Pixar characters, like Kevin from “Up,” were used as base models for the animated alebrije characters in the Land of the Dead.
  • Miguel meets legendary artist Frida Kahlo during his journey in the Land of the Dead. Filmmakers used various references—including the artist’s own work—to create the character, designing a variation of the Tehuantepec-style costume Kahlo often wore. Inspired by Kahlo’s pet spider-monkeys that appear in many of her self-portraits, filmmakers created a monkey-alebrije for Kahlo’s spirit guide.
  • Miguel’s loyal canine companion Dante is a Xolo dog—short for Xoloitzcuintli—the national dog of Mexico. Nearly hairless, Xolos often have missing teeth, and for that reason their tongue naturally hangs out. Filmmakers included this detail in Dante’s design— his tongue behaves like a character itself. To achieve the look, they borrowed the rig used in “Finding Dory” for “septopus” Hank’s dynamic tentacles.
  • The song “Remember Me,” heard multiple times in the movie, was written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, the team behind the Oscar®-winning song “Let It Go” from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 2013 feature “Frozen.”

COCO is great addition to the Pixar legacy of incredible family-friendly movies that is sure to be watched over and over again if you purchase it.  I especially like that the digital version is part of Movies Anywhere which allows you to store your library of movies in one place via the cloud and access them from a variety of options.  With Movies Anywhere you can purchase a movie from iTunes and stream it to your television or upload it to an Android device no problem.  Buy a movie from Google Play and you can upload it to an iPad or watch via Roku.  Movies Anywhere puts consumers first allowing you to view your movies at home and on the go through the device that is most convenient for you.

COCO is rated PG by the Motion Picture Association of America because it has thematic elements involving death and the skeleton imagery is a major visual component of the film.  For more information, visit movies.disney.com/coco

Minion MiP Turbo Dave

Any fan of the Despicable Me movies has dreamed about having their own troop of zany yellow creatures to serve them just like Gru does.  Now you can bring home your very own Minion courtesy of WowWee.  Some of my daughters favorite toys including CHiP the Robot Dog, Fingerlings, and MiPosaur have been manufactured by WowWee with the Minion MiP Turbo Dave Balancing Robot recently joining that list.

Minion MiP Turbo Dave brings one of the wacky minions characters from the Despicable Me movies to life in your own home.  The toy incorporates a number of high tech features that provide for fun interactive experiences allowing your new loyal henchman to carry out all sorts of mischievous schemes for you.  Accelerometers & gyroscopes allow your Turbo Dave to balance itself up right and whip around a room really fast while also allowing the robot to sense when it is being picked up.  Capacitive sensor technology allows a Minion MiP to respond to being touched.  Its sound detection system allows the robot to react to noises in its environment. Plus GestureSense allows your WowWee robot to respond to gesture-based interactions like swipes, claps, touch and more.  So you can have lots of fun playing with Minion MiP Turbo Dave without the need of a remote control device!

Expanding upon the controllability of Minion MiP Turbo Dave there is also a free downloadable app for Android and Apple mobile devices and phones that allows the robot to be controlled via Bluetooth.  There are a variety of games, like Fart Battle, you can play with Turbo Dave accessible through the app.  The Minion MiP also has more than 140 sound effects taken from the Despicable Me and Minions movie soundtracks which are a hoot to hear!  Additionally the app has a coding option within it that provides a STEM learning aspect to the toy by helping teaching kids, or adults, how to program the robot themselves.

There is a whole lot to discover about Minion MiP Turbo Dave and exploring all its abilities and options is exciting.  Being able to interact and control Turbo Dave both through an app as well as by gestures, sound and touch really enhances the fun of its interactive capabilities. This toy has been very entertaining and everyone in our family has enjoyed playing around with it!  It is recommended for ages 8+ and requires 4 AAA sized alkaline batteries that are not included with the toy.  The batteries are the one negative aspect of the Minion MiP as it would have been nice to have a plug in rechargeable battery for all the use the toy gets from our family.  Of course on the flip side of that critique is we've also like the product enough to be using it a lot.

To get some inspiration for the antics and adventures we wanted to engage in with our new WowWee toy, we watched MINIONS on Movies Anywhere before playing with it.  Movies Anywhere simplifies your digital video collection by providing access in one place to movies from multiple studios purchased or redeemed through a variety of retailers.  Redeem digital copy codes found in eligible Blu-ray and DVD disc packages from participating studios or purchase a digital download of a movie directly from the Movies Anywhere app or website.   Stream a movie to your television for a family movie night or download a film to watch by yourself on a mobile device.  Watch your movie collection whenever and wherever you want with Movies Anywhere.

Bello!!! Who is in the mood to watch MINIONS now?  A Geek Daddy has a digital download code for MINIONS courtesy of Movies Anywhere to give away.  For a chance to win simply complete the entries within the rafflecopter form below before 11:59 pm ET on Sunday, December 17, 2017.  One lucky winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries.  Must be a United States resident over 18 years old to participate.

Minions Family Movie Night

We had a fun family movie night courtesy of Movies Anywhere watching Minions over the Halloween weekend. It is always enjoyable to pop up some popcorn, relax on the couch with my minions and watch a move that the whole family appreciates viewing.  Minions, the prequel film that leads up to the Despicable Me series of movies, is a delight to see because of the zany antics of those wacky yellow creatures that star in it who mean well but have a tendency to be really unlucky.  Of course the minions' bad luck leads to lots of humorous situations that have my family smiling and laughing throughout the movie.

Movies Anywhere provided us a digital download code for Minions and we streamed the movie in high definition to our big screen television.  Using this digital service is very easy and it makes accessing and storing your home video library very convenient.  Originally known as Disney Movies Anywhere, the service has a new name and now provides a one stop spot for people to view digital movies from Fox, Sony, Universal, Warner Bros, as well as Disney.  With the Movies Anywhere app and website you can download or stream movies to watch virtually anywhere.  Stream a movie to your television like we did for our family movie night or download a film to watch on your mobile device while you are on the go.

Movies Anywhere simplifies your digital video collection by providing access in one place to movies from multiple studios purchased or redeemed through a variety of retailers.  Redeem digital copy codes found in eligible Blu-ray and DVD disc packages from participating studios and enjoy them through Movies Anywhere whenever and wherever you want.  Link your account with Amazon Video, Google Play, iTunes or Vudu and when you make a movie purchase it will instantly be available to view through Movies Anywhere.  No more having to worry about a device being compatible with the retailer you purchased a digital movie from.

It was despicable to me that you used to be locked into watching movies on certain devices based on where you bought them. Movies Anywhere bridges the gaps between retailers and hardware manufacturers giving consumers control of how they watch the movies they purchase.  Buy a participating studio's movie from retailers including Amazon Video,  iTunes, or Google Play and through Movies Anywhere it can be viewed as you desire on your choice of Amazon Fire, Android devices, Apple TV, Chromecast, iPhones, iPads, Roku and popular Internet browsers no matter where you bought it from.  If you want digital movies can even be purchased straight from Movies Anywhere. There are more than 7,300 films available through Movies Anywhere and that count will continue to grow as new releases come out.

Another nice feature about Movies Anywhere is when mom or dad want to watch a movie that is too scary for the kids or isn't age appropriate for them it can be streamed or downloaded to a device so it can be watched in private.  In fact, Movies Anywhere accounts are designed knowing families have multiple members with differing preferences.  So you can stream multiple movies simultaneously to different devices using one account. So on a night when we weren't watching something together,  I was able to download and watch Kong: Skull Island to watch on my iPad in our home office while the kids streamed The Emoji Movie on the living room television from the same Movies Anywhere account.

Movies Anywhere gets A Geek Daddy nod of approval for being an accessible and convenient option for storing and viewing your library of digital movies.  In addition to watching movies around the house, we've used the service quite a bit while traveling too.  We kept the kids amused watching movies on the app while we drove from Michigan to Florida and back on a family vacation.  On another instance, I passed the time while stuck at the airport after a flight was cancelled watching stuff from my Movies Anywhere catalog of films.  Our family really is bananas about Movies Anywhere!   For more information about this great service, please visit moviesanywhere.com

One of the ways we like to make a family movie night fun is by getting into character ourselves.  We had a blast dressing up as Gru and his minions with outfits from Costume Super Center. Costumesupercenter.com always has a great selection based upon movie costumes in sizes for both kids and adults to choose from.  Looking for a Santa suit for a Christmas party, a Jedi robe to go see Star Wars Episode VII in, or some Minions inspired outfits for your own family movie night party, Costume Super Center has a great selection to choose from that will add some extra fun to any occasion.  A Geek Daddy's minions give Costume Super Center a thumbs up!
