The movie begins with Scott Lang grappling with the consequences of the role he has played in the Marvel cinematic universe as the Ant-Man. Approached by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym who are now on the run from the law, Lang must once again don the Ant-Man suit and fight alongside the Wasp. This urgent mission Lang is recruited for soon leads to secret revelations from the past as this dynamic duo finds itself in an epic battle against a new powerful enemy.
ANT-MAN AND THE WASP earned A Geek Daddy nod of approval for being a funny romp of a superhero movie filled with action yet suitable for the whole family to enjoy together. A perfect movie for a family movie night! Rated PG-13 because there is a lot of fight scenes in the movie and it paints law enforcement as "bad guys" when it comes to their prosecuting and punishing Lang for Ant-Man's role in Captain America: Civil War, this flick doesn't have sexual content, swearing, or scary scenes for parents to be wary of letting younger kids watch it. While there are a number of battle sequences in the film, the movie isn't overly violent. I had no issue with my nine year old twins watching this movie and it is now one of my family's favorite films in the Marvel cinematic universe.
Full of comedic moments and gags which combined with the super hero adventure elements of its story makes ANT-MAN AND THE WASP great to watch whether or not you are a fan of comic book inspired movies. There are lots of people and things shrinking and expanding throughout the movie with special effects that will WOW you. This is just a downright fun flick to enjoy along with a bucket of popcorn!
