A Geek Daddy is giving away the children's musical album / picture book SING OUT featuring six timeless folk songs. She’ll Be Coming ‘Round the Mountain, Little Bingo, This Old Man, Pop Goes the Weasel, I’ve Been Working on the Railroad and Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star are brought to life for a new generation of children through the illustrations of Sophie Casson and vocal talents of musical duo Sin & Swoon.
The SING OUT musical picture book highlights each song as a stand-alone story featuring zany characters including an acrobatic pink-haired roller-skater girl, a straw hat-wearing unshaven hillbilly astronaut, a banjo-playing cow-loving weasel and a hard-working monkey who happens to love dumplings. These are drawn by Casson who is an award-winning illustrator based in Montréal. Her illustrations have appeared in publications such as The New York Times, Financial Times, and The Globe and Mail and exhibits at World Design Capital events in Taipei and Paris, and the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
The SING OUT picture book is accompanied by musical renditions of these folk songs performed by Sin & Swoon. These folk artists have been profiled on the CBC and NPR radio networks.
