IMAX MAKES LIGHTYEAR ADVANCES IN NEW DISNEY PIXAR MOVIE

I know animated movies are supposed to be for kids, but I am really GEEKED to go see LIGHTYEAR! The trailer looks like this will be a fun, light-hearted sci-fi flick. And IMAX has gone all out to create a theatrical experience for the showing of this film that shouldn't be missed. I'm absolutely going to see this new Disney Pixar movie inspired by the Buzz Lightyear character from the Toy Story films on an IMAX screen.

The highly-anticipated release will be presented in IMAX exclusive Expanded Aspect Ratio (EAR) in a first for a Pixar movie. Moviegoers who watch Lightyear in IMAX will find themselves totally immersed in IMAX-exclusive 1.90 aspect ratio, which provides up to 26% more picture. In addition to more picture, Lightyear in IMAX has been digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® with proprietary IMAX DMR® (Digital Re-mastering) technology, coupling crystal-clear images with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, making for an incredible moviegoing experience.

A sci-fi action adventure and the definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear (voice of Chris Evans), the hero who inspired the toy, “Lightyear” follows the legendary Space Ranger on an intergalactic adventure alongside a group of ambitious recruits (voices of Keke Palmer, Dale Soules and Taika Waititi), and his robot companion Sox (voice of Peter Sohn). Also joining the cast are Uzo Aduba, James Brolin, Mary McDonald-Lewis, Efren Ramirez and Isiah Whitlock Jr. Directed by Angus MacLane (co-director “Finding Dory”) and produced by Galyn Susman (“Toy Story That Time Forgot”), “Lightyear” releases June 17, 2022.
