RUGRATS SEASON 1 & 2 DVD GIVEAWAY

** A Geek Daddy received the featured product for free **

RUGRATS was one of the most popular shows on the Nickelodeon cable network in the 1990s.  Told from the perspective of a group of adventurous and imaginative toddlers, RUGRATS transformed the most mundane activities into unforgettable adventures. Led by fearless leader Tommy Pickles, the gang can turn an ordinary trip to the park into a journey across the Sahara in search of water, a visit to the plant nursery into a jungle trek to find a cure for "jungle beaver," or a search for cookies into a prehistoric fantasy. Known as one of the favorite childhood television shows of millennials, Nickelodeon is now releasing the show on DVD to introduce a new generation of children to the Rugrats.

Courtesy of Fox Home Entertainment

Ever since our family went to go see "Mr. Peabody & Sherman" at the movie theater last spring my kids have been asking when they can watch it at home on tv.  I've been teasing them the last few days after school with some movie-themed coloring pages as we wait for the Blu-ray and DVD release of this animated feature film on October 14th [If anyone is interested in these I've included these activity sheets at the bottom of the post] to get them excited that we'll be able to get the movie in just a few more days.  I'm sure a lot of people will be excited when they can bring this great family friendly adventure movie home to enjoy.

About the Film

Mr. Peabody (voiced by Modern Family's Ty Burrell) is an inventor, scientist, and genius, oh by the way who just also happens to be a dog.  With his son Sherman, who happens to be a little boy, Mr. Peabody will embark on the most extraordinary adventure imaginable as they race against time to repair history and save the future.

You may ask yourself why do these characters seem so familiar?  If you are old enough to been watching television from 1950 into the 1980s you would have seen them on the animated television shows "Rocky and His Friends" and "The Bullwinkle Show" that were produced by Jay Ward.  Now a new generation can sit back and enjoy the adventures of MR. PEABODY & SHERMAN in this movie directed by Bob Minkoff (THE LION KING, STUART LITTLE) and from the producers of THE CROODS and HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON.  Sit back and go WABAC to experience the ultimate joy ride and loads of laughs when this movie comes out on Blu-ray & DVD.

Mickey Dawson (Jennifer Aniston) the wife of crooked real-estate developer Frank Dawson (Tim Robbins) is kidnapped by two common criminals who intend to hold her for a $1 million dollar ransom and extort her husband with inside information about his illegal business dealings.  But Frank, who is in the Bahamas with his mistress decides he'd rather not get his wife back, setting off a sequence of double-crosses and plot twists that could only come from the mind of master storyteller Elmore Leonard.

If you haven't seen THE LEGO MOVIE yet here's a synopsis for you:

The LEGO® Movie, the first-ever, full-length theatrical LEGO® adventure, directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller is an original 3D computer animated story that follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

Chris Pratt (Moneyball) stars as the voice of Emmet. Will Ferrell (The Campaign) stars as the voice of his primary adversary, President Business, an erudite, anal-retentive CEO who has a hard time balancing world domination with micro-managing his own life; while Liam Neeson (Taken) voices the president's powerful henchman, known as Bad Cop, who will stop at nothing to catch Emmet.

Starring as Emmet's fellow travelers are Oscar® winner Morgan Freeman (Million Dollar Baby), as Vitruvius, an old mystic; Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games, Emmy nominee for 30 Rock), as tough-as-nails Lucy, who mistakes Emmet for the savior of the world and guides him on his quest; Will Arnett (Emmy nominee, 30 Rock), as the mysterious Batman, a LEGO minifigure with whom Lucy shares a history; Nick Offerman (NBC's Parks and Recreation) as a craggy, swaggering pirate, obsessed with revenge on President Business; and Alison Brie (Community) as a sweet, loveable member of the team, with a powerful secret.
