BOSE FRAMES

review
This post was sponsored by Best Buy. I received free product and/or Best Buy gift cards for promotional consideration. Opinions expressed are my own.
When it comes to traveling for me, two must have items for my packing checklist of things to bring with me on any trip are a good pair of sunglasses and some quality headphones.  Now thanks to Bose these two items can be checked off your list with one mark as they have combined the two. BOSE FRAMES are the first audio sunglasses with built in Bose speakers that let wearers cordlessly enjoy tunes or take a hands free phone call while also protecting and shading their eyes from the sun.

The other day while chaperoning my daughter's Girl Scouts troop on a tour of Meadow Brook Hall, a 1920's era mansion on the outskirts of Detroit that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, I took along with me some BOSE FRAMES that Best Buy sent me to try out.  Wow! After testing them out, I absolutely have to give BOSE FRAMES a Geek Daddy nod of approval. They really are amazing!

What I especially like about BOSE FRAMES is you don't have to stick anything inside your ears. Sound is directed from miniature speakers within the temple of these sunglass frames towards your ears providing open ear audio.  Initially, I scoffed at this before trying them out; but the audio works very well for the scenarios where these will be used: outdoors and in vehicles. To be honest BOSE FRAMES sounded just as good as the wireless Bose ear buds I wear while working out at the gym.

Surprisingly, while these speakers provide an exceptional listening experience they also provide you with plenty of privacy despite the open air audio concept. Noise cancelling technology sends out air waves that cancel out the sounds coming from the sunglasses so only the wearer can hear the audio coming from them. Don't worry about people being annoyed by your music playing around them or snooping in on your phone conversations because they can't hear what you are listening to through your BOSE FRAMES. The clarity of what you can hear and the lack of sound being able to be heard by others around you truly exceeded my expectations. I am going to be getting a lot of use out of these audio sunglasses!

There are two shapes of BOSE FRAMES to choose from. The RONDO style, which I'm wearing in the picture below, has distinct rounded lenses. They are available in one size fits all and are recommended for people looking for small to medium sized sunglasses.

The ALTO style have more of a squared look to them. These classic angular lenses are available in two sizes: Small/Medium or Large. While both styles fit comfortably on my face, my preference is for the ALTO. Which variety of BOSE FRAMES do you like better the RONDO or ALTO?

BOSE FRAMES come with a portable carrying case to keep them clean and safe. Tucked inside is a pouch that holds a recharger cable. Snap one side of the cable to a port on the inside of the glasses frame and plug the other end into a USB port to power up your BOSE FRAME with the rechargeable battery built inside of them. A battery charge lasts about three hours.

These sunglasses aren't just a gimmick. In addition to providing great sound quality by using Bluetooth to link BOSE FRAMES to your smart phone the sunglasses themselves are nice too. The sun was really bright as we drove to Meadow Brook Hall and the BOSE FRAMES I was wearing did a great job of eliminating glare.

BOSE FRAMES were designed to be durable and dependable sunglasses. Their lenses are shatter and scratch resistance. They also block up to 99% of UVA/UVB rays. While BOSE FRAMES are a bit bulkier than normal shades due to housing their audio equipment inside they still fit comfy on my face. The microphones and speakers are also well hidden so as not to stand out.  I don't think people will look out of the ordinary wearing BOSE FRAMES around.

After the Girl Scout troop tour, my daughter and I wandered around the grounds outside Meadow Brook Hall for awhile. I synced some songs from the Spotify app on my phone to the BOSE FRAMES. Then I had to take a call for work. It looked like I was wandering around talking to myself as microphones in the sunglass frames picked up my voice for the call. Confirming my client could here me, she replied the connection through my BOSE FRAMES was crystal clear.

While I was listening to music and talking on the phone my daughter was walking along next to me. I asked her if she could hear the music or what my client was talking to me about. Her reply was the only thing she could  hear was what I was saying during my phone call. When we got home I let my son and daughter play around with the glasses listening to music while we checked to see if the rest of the family could hear what was playing coming from the sunglasses. Nope! We didn't hear a sound!

From my experience using BOSE FRAMES I have to say they exceeded my expectations. In addition to planning on taking them with me whenever I travel, I am geeked to be able to wear these next summer when I'm running outdoors and doing lots of other outdoor activities. I encourage you to pick up a pair of Alto or Rondo BOSE FRAMES from Best Buy. You won't be disappointed!
