MOTOR CITY COMIC CON SCREENING OF JURASSIC PARK WITH SPECIAL GUEST APPEARANCE

Motor City Comic Con will be hosting a special screening event of the 1993 movie JURASSIC PARK at Emagine Novi on Friday, November 8, 2024 at 8pm featuring Wayne Knight from the movie. Knight will make a special guest appearance and host a Q&A panel discussion in Emagine’s Super EMX auditorium, where each attendee will also receive a commemorative badge and exclusive artwork, along with a ticket to attend the screening of Jurassic Park following the panel. Admission to Motor City Comic Con is not included in this add-on ticketed event, however it is required to attend as this is a special event opportunity only available to Motor City Comic Con guests. There is an additional fee of $40 beyond the Motor City Comic Con admission price to participate in the Wayne Knight Jurassic Park screening.

In addition to his role playing Nerdy in Jurassic Park, Knight is known for comedic performances as Newman on the TV sitcom Seinfeld and as Officer Don Orville on 3rd Rock From The Sun and has been in several movies some including Space Jam, JFK, and Rat Race. He has also voiced several characters some including Tantor in Tarzan, Al McWhiggin in Toy Story 2, Igor on Toonsylvania, Dojo Kanojo Cho in Xiaolin Showdown and Mr. Blink, Granny, and Blik Robot in Catscratch. Wayne Knight will be on-site at the Suburban Collection Showplace Friday, November 8 – Sunday, November 10 for paid meet & greet experiences with Motor City Comic Con guests.

CELEBRITIES VISITING DETROIT FOR SPRING COMIC CON EVENT

Motor City Comic Con, one of the largest conventions in the Midwest, takes place yearly in both the Spring and the Fall at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi, Michigan. This year's Spring event is May 17 - 19, 2024.Throughout the three-day weekend attendees can participate in autographs and photo opportunities with fan favorite actors and actresses from movies and tv. Attendees can also participate in various panel discussions, attractions, events, and explore various exhibitors. Artists, writers, and illustrators will also be featured throughout Artist Alley over the three-day convention. In addition, there will be venders offering a variety of merchandise including comics, toys, art, unique jewelry, clothing, memorabilia and much more! 

Here are some of the celebrities scheduled to be in attendance at the 2024 Spring Motor City Comic Con. Be aware that meet and greet opportunities with the show's celebrity guests often involve an extra fee beyond your admission to the event. If you purchase an autograph, note that many of these people will also require more money if you want to get a selfie with them at that time too. Professional photo ops also are offered for many of the celebrities in attendance and can be a nice souvenir where you don't have to worry about handing your phone to someone to take the picture for you. Checking out the pricing and availability of the scheduled celebrities during the show at the Motor City Comic Con website in advance can save you from some unexpected surprises or disappointments when it comes to these interactions.

William Shatner 

Best known for his portrayal of James T. Kirk in the Star Trek franchise. MOTOR CITY COMIC CON RETURNS IN NOVEMBER

Motor City Comic Con (MC3) returns to Metro Detroit on November 10-12, 2023 at the Suburban Collection Showplace located at 46100 Grand River Ave. in Novi, Michigan. MC3 gathers comic book and multimedia dealers from across the country, offering a vast variety of pop-culture merchandise, including comics, art, t-shirts, movie memorabilia, posters and more. Over 250 comic book creators, writers and artists are featured at MC3 each year, as well as actors from the television and movie industry. Highlights of this Fall's event include appearance by Karate Kid / Cobra Kai actors Ralph Macchio, William Zabka and Xolo Mariduena; Star Trek alum Walter Koenig; Star Wars' Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams); and the star of one of my favorite TV series ED, Tom Cavanagh. 

Any good con is filled with fans decked out in creative costumes and people watching won't have you disappointed at MC3. If you are inclined to dress up yourself, there is a Cosplay contest for those 13+ taking place on Saturday, November 13 at 6:30 pm.  Spots are limited and will fill up quickly. Prizing will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners. Prizing includes $125, $250, and $500 winnings as well as Comic Con passes, Autographed Photos, and MC3 Exclusive goodies.
