We recently announced a special one day showing of the soon to be released animated movie BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE at theaters across the United States by Fathom Events before its consumer video release (DVD / BLU-RAY / DIGITAL HD) from DC Entertainment and Warner Brothers Home Entertainment.  Well due to unprecedented fan demand to see the show on the big screen, Fathom Events has added a second date providing for two additional show times.  BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE will now be available to view at select cinemas on Monday, July 25 and Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 7:30pm and 10pm (local time) both days. Showing at more than 1,150 U.S. theater locations, BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE has become the widest rollout yet in Fathom Events company history.

Audience members at the event will be treated to the full feature presentation plus a special introduction from actor Mark Hamill who voices the Joker in the movie.  An exclusive documentary with a behind-the-scenes look at the Joker's memorable, yet disturbing, song and dance number from the movie will also be shown.  BATMAN: THE KILLING JOKE is a 2K presentation that has been remastered for this theatrical event.

Are you excited about THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS arriving at movie theaters on July 8, 2016?!  My kids have been drooling to see this movie since the trailers started popping up at theaters and on television last year.  Of course we're going to go see it!

While waiting for the theatrical release have some fun with ILLUMINATION'S The Secret Life of Pets petMOJI character creator.  Visit this special website where you can create a custom cartoon of your favorite pet.  Also keep an eye out for an app coming out soon for iOS and Android devices that will feature sticker packs and a custom keyboard. For more information, visit www.mypetmoji.com/

THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS story revolves around a Manhattan apartment building where a dog named Max has his life as a favorite pet turned upside down when his owner brings home a sloppy mongrel named Duke.  Max and Duke have to put their quarrels behind them though when they find out that an adorable white bunny named Snowball is building an army of abandoned pets determined to take revenge on all the happy-owned pets and their owners in their building.

Comedy superstars Louis C.K., Eric Stonestreet and Kevin Hart make their animated feature-film debuts in The Secret Life of Pets, which co-stars Jenny Slate, Ellie Kemper, Lake Bell, Dana Carvey, Hannibal Buress, Bobby Moynihan, Steve Coogan and Albert Brooks.  Illumination founder and CEO Chris Meledandri and his longtime collaborator Janet Healy produce the film directed by Chris Renaud (Despicable Me, Despicable Me 2), co-directed by Yarrow Cheney and written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio and Brian Lynch.

Cartoonist Attempting to Draw a Star Wars Illustration Every Day Between New Year's Day & Opening of New Movie

To highlight himself as a super fan and promote his twitter feed, cartoonist George Folz kicked off his "Darth Days" campaign on New Years Day with the goal of drawing and tweeting out a new Star Wars illustration from the beginning of the year until Episode VII is released in theaters on December 18, 2015.  You can follow along and look for his drawings at @GeorgeJurard on twitter.  Here's a look at his most recent post that he tweeted out today:

Star Wars fans who want a fun way to count down the days until the next movie debuts should give George Folz a follow and keep an eye out for his original artwork (like the Tatooine Dusk above and Jabba's Slave Girl below) as he tweets his illustrations that pay homage to the artistic vision of another George with the last name of Lucas.
