THREE MOVING MISTAKES YOU NEED TO AVOID

Moving to a new house may be one of the most stressful periods in someone's life, so it's no surprise that people are always seeking methods to make it go more smoothly and easily. Unfortunately, there are usually some really easy things that people neglect while arranging a relocation. Of course, through no fault of their own. It's human nature to forget from time to time. Take a look at some of the easy items that people often overlook when moving and make sure you don't leave them off your list.

Incorrect Labels 

It's probably one of the most apparent things to consider when packing, but when you're pressed for time, small details like labeling your boxes can easily be overlooked. It may appear to be a trivial mistake, but the impact it could have on the other end of the move could be significant, and you will find yourself pulling out your hair. The best thing to do is to put this to each box as you go and make sure anyone helping labels as well. 

You should mention things like the name of the room they will be placed in when unloading and maybe a fragment of what's inside; you can provide as much detail as you desire, but merely a hint will be enough. Make sure to clearly label any boxes containing fragile or heavy products so that the crew knows to take additional care when handling them. Including 'unpack first' could be handy, especially while looking for your toothbrush, kettle, or esl newcomers kit for your tween on their first day of school. 

Incorrect Packing 

If you do not utilize the proper packing materials when moving, you will undoubtedly encounter several concerns, the most serious of which is the danger of damage to your valuables. Boxes that aren't solid and large enough for their contents can and will easily collapse due to the weight, and even worse, bin bags of clothes can easily break open, leaving your belongings all over the place and, in the worst-case scenario, destroyed. Bags and boxes that are insufficient for the job will not suffice, thus it is best to invest in proper packaging supplies for a smooth transfer.

When you finally get into the flow of things, it's all too easy to go overboard and find yourself unable to stop packing. While this might be beneficial, it can also be detrimental because you may become overly enthusiastic and begin packing items that you may require before or on the day of the move

If you have anyone helping you, this can be even worse because they won't know what you need before or during your move; their priority is simply to pack your items in boxes because they're 'helping,' so make sure you put your essential supplies to one side before packing and inform anyone helping that they are items to be left alone.
