BALANCING GAMING AND YOUR KIDS AS A BUSY DAD

If you want to try to game as a busy dad, then you will know how limited you can be on time sometimes. With that said, if you can try to set realistic goals, this can help you a lot. HEALTHY HABITS TO ADOPT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE

There are certain things you end up doing every day without really thinking about them, and after a while they just become part of how your day works, like when you eat, how often you move around, what you do in the evening, and even your morning routine, for example. And it’s actually only when something feels a bit off that you start thinking about what you’re doing and wondering whether there might be a better - perhaps healthier - way. With that in mind, here are some options to help you get started with new healthy habits you can adopt as soon as possible.

The First Hour of the Day 

The way your day begins can have a proper impact on everything that follows, so if you want to have a good day (as far as possible), then you need to have a good start. The fact is, if you’re in a rush, thinking you’ve forgotten things, and feeling stressed, that’s the feeling that’s going to stay with you until you finally get to rest in the evening, but if you are calmer and less stressed, you’ll be calmer and less stressed all day.

That’s why it’s wise to give yourself a bit more time at the start of the day, even if it means getting up a little bit earlier (and we’re only talking 10 minutes or so, so it’s not too much of a chore). That way, you can drink your coffee in peace, do a little exercise, have a nice shower, watch the sun rise, or anything else you want to do without feeling rushed.

Eat Better 

Food can become something you either overthink or totally ignore, and neither of those options are particularly good ones - they’re definitely not sustainable. 

It’s actually usually easier when the meals you’re having fit around your life rather than the other way around, because it means you’ll end up eating regularly, choosing food that keeps you going, and not having to think about it too much apart from that.

Add Some Sensible Exercise 

Some days you’ll have the time and energy to do more, and some days you won’t - and that’s fine. The key is to do something, no matter how small it might be, and then you’ll know you did your best and you won’t feel guilty. 

You could walk somewhere instead of driving, for example, do some stretching while you’re waiting for the kettle to boil, or even just get up and walk around after you’ve been sitting for a while. And if you’ve got more time and energy, you can go for a run, go to a class, or go to the gym - it’s really going to depend on your day and how you feel, but doing something is better than nothing.

Wind Down in the Evening 

You need to ensure that your evenings become a time you can really wind down and end the day properly - that way you’ll sleep better and feel a lot more refreshed the next day. 

One way to make sure that happens is to do something that signals to your brain that you’re done for the day, like turning off your notifications, drinking a hot milky drink or some herbal tea, reading, or using CBD gummies for sleep as part of your routine. That way, it’s a lot easier to settle down and relax because your body and brain will know it’s time to stop working.

FORK N FILM DETROIT

Dinner and a movie is being completely reimagined in downtown Detroit. Cambria Detroit Downtown is partnering with Fork n’ Film to introduce Michigan’s first-ever immersive cinematic dining experience — a curated series that blends iconic films with chef-driven, multi-course pre-set menus and specially crafted cocktails and mocktails, for a truly unforgettable evening.

The series debuts this fall inside Cambria’s elegant Balla Ultra Lounge with a showing of Disney Pixar’s Ratatouille. Guests will follow Remy’s flavorful journey through Paris while enjoying dishes timed to arrive at the precise moments their inspiration appears on screen, transforming the typical movie night into an immersive storytelling experience.

The Fork n’ Film cinematic dinner series will take place in the Balla Ultra Lounge on select dates beginning Friday, September 12, 2025. LITTLE FREE LIBRARIES PROMOTION HYPES RETURN OF TNT TV SERIES

Debuting this week on the TNT cable network is a spinoff series of the fantasy adventure movies and television show The Librarians which starred Noah Wyle of E.R. fame that were released between 2004 and 2018. MUFASA HOME VIDEO RELEASE

An early chapter in the circle of life of the royal family of THE LION KING is told in Disney Studios' MUFASA which is now available to add to your home entertainment video library via digital and will be released April 1 on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD. MUFASA: THE LION KING is rated PG by the Motion Picture Association of America [MPAA] and has a runtime of just under 2 hours. Exploring the unlikely rise of the beloved king of the Pride Lands, “Mufasa: The Lion King” enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. LOONEY TUNES BREAKFAST AT EMAGINE THEATRES

Each month, Emagine hosts a Breakfast and a Movie showing, at select theaters, of one of the newest family-film releases. The breakfast and a movie screening package will include a full breakfast buffet, a 44oz. popcorn, and a 21oz fountain drink as well as a ticket to the showing for $24 for children and $30 for adults.  The special presentation for March will be the new Looney Tunes movie THE DAY THE EARTH BLEW UP a PG-rated family-friendly spoof of 1950s era sci-fi flicks. STAR TREK PRODIGY GIVEAWAY

Cartoons aren't just for little kids! SONGS TO HOWL & SING

Indie folk band LITTLE COYOTES have just released their first album which is available now digitally on all major music platforms. SONGS TO HOWL & SING is full of tunes to inspire children to have a lifetime of love for the outdoors and to embrace having family adventures in wild places. Fronted by vocalist Becca Mohler and produced by her Grammy-nominated husband Billy, LITTLE COYOTES' SONGS TO HOWL & SING is a blend of nostalgic folk melodies reminiscent of Belle and Sebastian, Donovan, and Simon and Garfunkel providing an evocative listening experience.
