Thanks McDonald's for delivering my dinner tonight! They sent over their new BTS Meal via McDelivery for me to try out at home. Inspired by the Korean Pop band BTS, which has become a boy band global sensation, this new meal deal from McDonalds includes a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, medium World Famous Fries, medium Coca-Cola, and for the first time ever in the United States will be accompanied by Sweet Chili and Cajun dipping sauces that are popular in South Korea.
Sweet Chili tastes like McDonald's standard BBQ dipping sauce but with a chili pepper kick to it. If you like hot, spicy foods this is right up your alley! Something out of the ordinary to spice up your enjoyment of Chicken McNuggets.
Cajun has a remoulade flavor that usually is paired with seafood dishes but turns out to be quite tasty with chicken too. People who like honey mustard will appreciate this Cajun dipping sauce which has a hot smokey flavor to it.

Appreciate McDonalds sending our way some of their new Crispy Chicken Sandwiches to try out. They come in regular, deluxe and spicy varieties and I wasn't chicken to try all three with some complimentary coupons McDonalds provided me. My wife has been on my case to eat less red meat so I was geeked to try out these new sandwiches that feature all white meat fillets. I'm loving them!
The regular sandwich has a crispy chicken fillet topped with crinkle-cut pickles between two buttered potato roll buns.
The spicy variety adds a hot pepper sauce to the mix.
Deluxe adds lettuce, tomato and mayo to the regular version and happened to be my favorite of the three.
Sorry puppy no sandwich for you ...I was eating these myself. She was so jealous! Try out a Crispy Chicken Sandwich for yourself at your local McDonalds' restaurant.

With the pandemic having me mostly working from home, my wife completely doing her job remotely and my kids virtually schooling from our house it was nice to make an effort to have someone deliver dinner then turn off our electronics and tune into each other to solve a jigsaw and play some euchre. A cold rainy night seemed the opportune time for us to try out DoorDash for the first time. The app was easy to use and kept us on track of the progress of our order. We were promptly notified when the restaurant received our order, a driver was assigned to us, when he picked up our meal, and even tracked his route and progress in delivery. I was messaged when the order was picked up from McDonalds and when the driver was approaching our driveway plus a map tracked the driver from pickup to drop off providing a delivery ETA time throughout the process. The whole process took about twenty minutes and our food was warm when it hit our dinner table. It was an excellent experience using DoorDash for a McDelivery.
I had a Quarter Pounder with Cheese and the rest of the family had Chicken McNuggets. Everyone had fries with their meal too. So that made putting together a puzzle of McDonalds fries extra fun. The very first edition of the these children's meals was called the Circus Wagon Happy Meal which became available nationally in the United States in 1979. Happy Meals in their first years featured decorative boxes with a variety of themes and included prizes such as a spinning top or an eraser in the image of a McDonaldland character. These eventually evolved into the iconic red boxes with golden arches for a handle that contains a collectible toy that we are all familiar with now.
Over the years Happy Meal toys have been associated with promoting movies, toy lines, and McDonalds' mascots. My favorite toys have to have been the Looney Tunes character action figures dressed up as DC Comics super heroes that were a promotion in the mid-90s. I still have one of these, the Tasmanian Devil dressed up as The Flash, which stays on my office desk as a cherished keepsake. Do you have a favorite McDonalds Happy Meal toy?
From November 7 - 11, McDonalds Happy Meals will each have a blind bag in them which will contain one of 15 throwback toys from the past forty years inside. It will be a surprise which toy is inside until its package is ripped open. We have been encouraged to enjoy a beverage ourselves and then be a brew gooder by passing it on to someone else.

If you are stopping in to a Michigan McDonald's restaurant during the next few weeks don't toss out your large soft drink cup after the meal. From now through June 3, 2018 large soft drink cups purchases a la carte or as part of an upsized Extra Value Meal can be used to score discount admission tickets to three great amusement parks, Cedar Point, Kings' Island, and Michigan's Adventure, thanks to a summer promotional partnership with Coco Cola. These special "Score with an Ice Cold Coke" cups provide a $20 discount to Cedar Point or Kings' Island and a $6 discount to Michigan's Adventure.
So how does it work? Now through Tuesday, July 5, 2016, Happy Meals at McDonald's restaurants across North America will feature toys inspired by the Skylanders SuperChargers video game. Six different characters equipped in sky, sea and land vehicles will be available to provide a fun new SuperCharged experience in every Happy Meal.
While these toys can't be incorporated for use with the Skylanders SuperChargers video game itself they can be scanned with the McDonald's app to open up new exclusive games that can be played on a mobile device featuring the characters Gill Grunt, Jet Vac, Nightfall, Roller Brawl, Spitfire and Tarrafin. Each Happy Meal also comes with a character card that can be used to redeem a character on the Skylanders BATTLECAST mobile game. Portal Masters head to McDonalds before these collectible Skylander toys are gone!
Unfortunately because of life-threatening food allergies the only Peanuts we can have in our home are those associated with the Charles Schulz comic strip featuring Snoopy, Charlie Brown and their youthful gang of friends. So it was a real treat to enjoy a #PeanutsMovieNight courtesy of our friends at Fox Home Entertainment.
Our Peanuts themed family movie night began with an after-dinner trip to the neighborhood park to take a stab at flying a kite, hate to admit it but I'm about as skilled at that as good ole Charlie Brown is, and to throw around a baseball playing catch since that is one of Snoopy and the gang's favorite activities. When we returned home from the park, we watched on of The Peanut Movie Blu-ray bonus features that provides drawing lessons for Charlie Brown, Snoopy and Woodstock. The kids then spent some time taking a stab at drawing their favorite Peanuts characters.
While the kids were drawing, my wife and I whipped up some movie snacks (cinnamon toast, jelly beans, and popcorn) so we could have our own feast like the one in the A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving television special. Then our family curled up on the couches around the living room to enjoy watching The Peanuts Movie.
Once the show concluded, my kids had some more fun playing with a set of McDonalds' Peanuts Happy Meal toys that we'd been sent along with the movie and several other The Peanuts Movie themed goodies from the good folks over at Fox Home Entertainment. Bedtime soon arrived and we all soon had dreams of little Woodstock type yellow birds circling our heads. It is always nice to have a family movie night that includes other themed activities going beyond just watching a video and we had a wonderful evening enjoying some quality time together.

Taco Bell launched a breakfast menu at its restaurants today with a fun teaser advertising campaign featuring no other than Ronald McDonald. Check it out:
Of course the red haired clown wasn't going to endorse a new business rival, but this was a very creative ad campaign by Taco Bell's creative team that caught my attention and made me chuckle. My wife loved it too as she texted me during the day to ask if I had scene the new Taco Bell ads yet. Though my 5 yr old son was somewhat perplexed on why these people weren't wearing their costumes for the ad. Hey if you can't beat the competition tease them! Kudos to Taco Bell for this great ad.
Am I going to swing by Taco Bell for breakfast now, probably not, but the advertisement did its job by getting my attention and some more buzz through this blog post. Though I love their Doritos Tacos and Caramel Apple Empanadas, the new menu of grilled taco and burrito shells filled with eggs, bacon, sausage and cheese just doesn't seem like that appetizing of an option to me. Though its CINNABON DELIGHTS 12 pack is very tempting! So what do you think of Taco Bell entering the fast food breakfast arena? Are you up to making an early morning run to Taco Bell? I guess you don't need to get up too early though as they are serving breakfast until 11 am.
