What many consider the best Batman story ever told and one of my favorite graphic novels, BATMAN: THE LONG HALLOWEEN is being adapted into animated movies that will be portrayed in two parts. The first installment of these new feature length movies will be able to be viewed by Digital and Blu-ray beginning June 22, 2021 joining the popular DC Universe Movies series produced by Warner Bros. It highlights a legendary rag-tag team of World War II outcasts – Captain Storm, Johnny Cloud, “Mile-a Minute” Jones, rookie Gunner and Sarge – who find themselves marooned on an uncharted island in the South Pacific that is completely overrun with dinosaurs! These feature length films actually provide a cinematic universe for DC Comics characters similar in scope to what Marvel has done with their life action films but don't get as much fanfare due to being cartoons that are released straight to home video. If you are a fan of comic books and superhero flicks, these DC Universe Movies are well worth checking out.
In this newest DC Universe Movie, the Earth is dealing with a world without Superman. But in the aftermath of Superman being killed by the Doomsday monster, and the subsequent disappearance of his body, leads to a new mystery – is Superman still alive? The question is further complicated when four new super-powered individuals – Steel, Cyborg Superman, Superboy and the Eradicator – emerge to proclaim themselves as the new Man of Steel. In the end, only one will be able to proclaim himself the world’s true Superman.
