JIM HENSON'S LABYRINTH THEATRICAL RETURN

Jim Henson's LABYRINTH is celebrating its 40th anniversary with a 4K remaster of the film that is being shown at select movie theaters January 8 - 11, 2026. Labyrinth: 40th Anniversary in addition to the screening of the movie in 4K will include a special featurette celebrating the fans of Labyrinth, filmed on location at the UK’s recent “Labyrinth Experience & Masked Ball,” presented by Thames Con in association with The Jim Henson Company. Tickets for Labyrinth: 40th Anniversary are now on sale at Fathom Entertainment and participating theatre box offices.

LABYRINTH stars 14-year-old Jennifer Connelly in her breakthrough role as Sarah, a teen searching through a magical maze to rescue her baby stepbrother from The Goblin King (David Bowie). The film was directed by Jim Henson and executive produced by George Lucas, with the story by Henson and Dennis Lee, and the screenplay by Terry Jones (Monty Python’s Flying Circus). LABYRINTH was scored by Trevor Jones with several songs of original music contributed to the film and performed by David Bowie. This film also features breathtaking production design, extraordinary practical effects and the magical artistry of hundreds of Henson puppets and creatures brought to life by Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

Cheers! Time to toast that us cord cutters who can't watch TNT can now catch up on the second season of the sci-fi cable tv show SNOWPIERCER. The Complete Second Season of Snowpiercer will be available to purchase from retailers on Blu-ray beginning November 9, 2021.  It should be a thrilling ride with all 10 hour-long episodes of season two that were broadcast on TNT plus another 21 minutes of extra content on the home entertainment video release. Inspired by the 2013 Snowpiercer movie that was adapted from a series of graphic novels, this television series stars Academy Award winner Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind), Grammy and Tony Award winner Daveed Diggs (Hamilton and Black-ish) and Sean Bean (Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings).

Season One concluded with a revolution that had the people working to keep a survival train running through a catastrophic weather event that froze the world rise up against an elitist class ruling over them. Hasn't been much of a winter when it comes to snow fall this year but a bunch of it has just been dumped on us by some recent storms. Winter weather conditions made today a snow day with our local roads impassible this morning but by the afternoon our local DPW had done an excellent job of digging us out. So my daughter and I bundled up and hit the sledding hill for the first time in awhile. We had a lot of fun getting outside and racing down the slopes!

After we got home it seemed a fitting day to watch this sci-fi tv series I've been wanting to see but couldn't because we cut our cable and it is broadcast on TNT. Now that the first season is available on Blu-ray, I'm finally going to be able to catch up with what is going on in SNOWPIERCER! I'm going to binge watch it tonight after the kids go to bed.

Set almost a decade after the world has become a frozen wasteland, SNOWPIERCER revolves around the remnants of humanity who inhabit a perpetually moving train, with 1,001 cars, that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this television adaption of a graphic novel series. Yeah it may seem like a goofy premise but it based upon a comic book full of sci-fi goodness! Plus the show stars Oscar winner Jennifer Connelly (A Beautiful Mind) and Grammy & Tony Award winner Daveed Diggs (Hamilton).
