SEPTEMBER BREAKFAST AND A MOVIE AT MICHIGAN EMAGINE THEATRES

Each month, Emagine hosts a Breakfast and a Movie showing, at select theaters, of one of the newest family-film releases. The breakfast and a movie screening package will include a full breakfast buffet, a 44oz. popcorn, and a 21oz fountain drink as well as a ticket to the showing for $24 for children and $30 for adults.  September's Breakfast and a Movie feature presentation is TRANSFORMERS ONE.

TRANSFORMERS ONE is the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron, better known as sworn enemies, but once were friends bonded like brothers who changed the fate of Cybertron forever. GHOSTBUSTERS FROZEN EMPIRE HOME VIDEO RELEASE

Thank you to Sony Pictures Home Entertainment for providing this Geek Daddy with a Blu-ray + DVD + Digital combo pack of the home video release of GHOSTBUSTERS: FROZEN EMPIRE so my family could have a fun family movie night this weekend. JURASSIC WORLD CHAOS THEORY

Netflix's Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous was an animated show that ran over two years (2020 - 2022) for fifty episodes that followed the adventures of six teens attending an adventure camp at the dinosaur themed amusement park on Isla Nublar become stranded on the island based upon the events of the live action Jurassic World movie. Dinosaur fanatic Darius Bowman along with other campers (Kenji, Brooklynn, Yaz, Ben, and Sammy) are forced to venture across the island without any help in the hopes of finding a way out alive as the creatures from Jurassic World's exhibits are now out on the loose. While Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous may seem to be a cartoon simply aimed for kids, my wife and I equally enjoyed viewing it making it a show our whole family loved to watch together. It absolutely earned a Geek Daddy nod of approval for being a family favorite show in our household. 

So, my family is GEEKED that Netflix is releasing a sequel series to Camp Cretaceous that has Darius, Ben, Kenji, Sammy and Yaz (now as adults) involved in new dinosaur-related exploits. Created by DreamWorks Animation and being broadcast exclusively on Netflix, JURASSIC WORLD: CHAOS THEORY debuts May 24, 2024. Set six years after the events at Camp Cretaceous, members of 'The Nublar Six' are struggling to find their footing off the island, navigating a world now filled with dinosaurs and people who want to hurt them. Reunited in the wake of a tragedy, the group comes together only to find themselves on the run and catapulted into a global adventure to unravel a conspiracy that threatens dinosaur and humankind alike and finally learn the truth about what happened to one of their own.

SHREK THE MUSICAL

Broadway in Detroit is bringing everyone's favorite ogre to town this summer! An all-new version of SHREK THE MUSICAL is embarking on a cross-country national tour that includes a stop at Detroit’s Fisher Theatre August 2 – 4, 2024. THE MARVELS HOME VIDEO RELEASE

Of all the Marvel Cinematic Universe shows that have debuted on the Disney+ streaming service, the one I thought in advance would be the one I liked least, MS MARVEL, turned out to be my favorite of these superhero series. So, I was GEEKED to see Ms. Marvel team up with Captain Marvel in the motion picture THE MARVELS. If you missed the movie in theaters or are looking forward to seeing it again, Marvel Studios' THE MARVELS will soon be available to add to your home entertainment video collection.

THE MARVELS will be available from all major digital retailers including Prime Video, Apple TV, and Vudu on January 16, 2024 and February 13 on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD. BOARD GAME SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE

Hey, Hey, Hey ... we just received a package in the mail from unboxboardom.com! A Geek Daddy was invited to participate in a review of the unboxboardom.com subscription service through this blog's affiliation with U.S. Family Guide. My family LOVES our game nights so we are excited to see what this board game subscription service has to offer.

Each month unboxboardom.com subscribers have the option of receiving one of three selected board games from the service that arrives in the mail. For those people that love game nights this is a great way to always have something fresh to play ... and who isn't GEEKED to get something fun in the mail?! So what is in the box?

Of the three choices to pick from this month, I selected FUSE because it looked to be an energetic game to play with my teens that didn't take a lot of effort to learn the rules and would be fun for the family to play together. It is a cooperative game where all the players work together pretending to be a counter-terrorism team trying to diffuse bombs planted on a ship. The clock is ticking and if you run out of time: KABOOM!

Players have to roll different colored and numbered dice to match up specific combinations on game cards to diffuse the bombs. When the dice are rolled, players must decide who will get which dice, but each player must take one and only one. To add excitement, there is a free companion app with a built in timer, sound effects, and voice overs to provide extra intensity to the game!
