I had the chance to goof around with Mim-Mim from the popular Disney Jr. cable network television show KATE & MIM-MIM this summer and have to say that bunny is sure a lot of fun to hang out with. Of course anyone who has seen this animated show for preschoolers that focuses on the friendship and adventures of a 5 year old girl named Kate and her favorite stuffed animal, a plush bunny named Mim-Mim already knows that. In the show, Kate and Mim-Mim travel to the land of Mimiloo for imaginary adventures where they are joined by magical friends that live in this land of make believe named Lily, Tack and Gobble. If you haven't seen Kate & Mim-Mim yet now is a chance to catch up on some of their past escapades which are being released on a new DVD coming out September 20, 2016. "THE MIMILOO ZOO" DVD will feature six fun filled tales plus a bonus video called "Mimiloo's Creatures."
In the story "The Mimiloo Zoo," Kate's trip to the zoo gets canceled because it's raining, so it's off to the fantasy world of Mimiloo! In Mimiloo, animals made out of bushes are being created for Gobble and Tack's AMAZING new fruit garden inside their AMAZING new hedge maze. When Mim-Mim accidently spritzes the animals twice with Gobble's powerful presto potion, they come to life and things quickly get wild. With the animals creating a bit of havoc, the gang needs to fnd a place for them to live and Kate knows the perfect location.
The DVD also features the story "Lily and the Unicorn." Lily has always wanted to see a unicorn, and now is the perfect time as beautiful shimmer flowers, which unicorns love to eat, are blooming. After searching all day, the gang finally locates a whole garden of flowers. When the garden starts to float away, with Lily, who can save her?
Additional stories included on "The Mimiloo Zoo" DVD include, To Catch a Critter, Follow the Leader, Kate's Turtle Drive, and Kittens & Mittens. The DVD run time is approximately 65 minutes. You can order the DVD online from Shop PBS or look for it at retail locations across the United States. For more information about this television series and its characters, visit kateandmimmim.com

Nickelodeon continuing popular animated series THE LOUD HOUSE for a second season
After its hugely successful first season debut in May which saw THE LOUD HOUSE dominate ratings as the #1 animated kids' show on television, it didn't take long for Nickelodeon to announce that it was renewing the series for a 14-episode second season. THE LOUD HOUSE provides a humorous inside look at what it takes to survive the chaos of growing up in a huge family by following the lives of Lincoln Loud and his 10 sisters. The series debuted on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 5:00 pm (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon and has quickly garnered a large following on the cable network. THE LOUD HOUSE is inspired by creator and executive producer Chris Savino's life growing up in a family of 10 kids.
In season two of THE LOUD HOUSE, Lincoln remains the man with the plan as he navigates through the chaos of living in a family with 11 kids. The upcoming season that is scheduled to arrive this Fall will dive deeper into the unique personalities of Lincoln's sisters as well as feature a spooky themed Halloween episode. If you haven't seen any of season one's shows yet, Nickelodeon has a few of the full length episodes available to view at your convenience on its website.
THE LOUD HOUSE is based on an animated short of the same name that was created by Chris Savino for Nickelodeon's annual Animated Shorts Program. It is the first TV series to be greenlit from that global program which is designed to cultivate a new generation of creative talent for the cable network. THE LOUD HOUSE is being produced at the Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank, California.

NASCAR DRIVERS MAKE GUEST APPEARANCES ON NICKELODEON'S "BLAZE & THE MONSTER MACHINES"
NASCAR fans will want to tune into Nickelodeon to watch with their kids six new race car themed episodes of the cable network's animated preschool series BLAZE AND THE MONSTER MACHINES which will be featuring guest voice appearances
from superstar drivers Danica Patrick, Jimmie Johnson, Chase
Elliott and Kasey Kahne. The first special, “Race Car Superstar,”
premieres Monday, May 30, at 1:30 p.m. (ET/PT), followed by “Race to
Eagle Rock” on Thursday, June 2, at 1:30 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon.
The remaining four race car episodes will roll out this fall.
In Blaze and the Monster Machines,
the amazing monster truck Blaze and his eight-year-old driver AJ have
adventures that explore the physics of how things move; tackle problems
through scientific inquiry and mathematics; and discover the parts
needed to make everyday technologies work. Each action-packed episode is
filled with monster trucks, physical humor and upbeat original songs that contain lyrics which highlight a STEM concept such as adhesion, friction,
force, trajectory and magnetism. STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and mathematics, all educational concepts important for developing high-tech skill sets.
In these race car themed specials, Blaze visits the
town of VelocityVille, where all the cars love to go fast, and meets
four new race cars: Rally (Patrick), a race car who is always first to
the track and never misses a chance to hit the raceway; Dash (Johnson), a
car that is fun, friendly, fast and the ultimate racing buddy for
Blaze; Mark Set-Go (Elliott), VelocityVille’s sensational starter who
kicks off each racing adventure with rock-star style and a signature
rhyme; and Fender (Kahne), a car that rules the raceway, but is excited
to share the track with Blaze.
In “Race Car Superstar,” a car named
Speedrick puts locks on the tires of other cars so they are stopped in
their tracks, forcing Blaze to transform into a sleek and aerodynamic
race car to free his new friends. Then, in “Race to Eagle Rock,” Blaze
brings all of his monster truck pals to VelocityVille for a wild race to
the top of Eagle Rock. After they all transform into race cars with
supercharged engines, they have to find a way to avoid Crusher’s
attempts to slow them down.
Tying into these race car themed adventures, the Blaze and the Monster Machines App is being updated to feature a brand-new VelocityVille location. This update will provide 15 new levels that focus on the STEM concept of velocity. The app allows players to help Blaze and AJ compete against other monster trucks – Starla, Darington, Crusher, Stripes and Zeg – in one of six locations (The Badlands, Top of the World, Dragon Island, The Snowy Slopes, The Monster Dome or VelocityVille) and use blazing speed and problem-solving to overcome obstacles along the way. The update is available now on iOS and Google Play. Additionally, leading up to the Blaze and the Monster Machines race car specials, NickJr.com and the Nick Jr. App will feature an exclusive first-look at the race-inspired episodes starting Monday, May 23.

TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE
Transformers, the toy series from Hasbro in which vehicles switch into robotic alien warriors, had a cartoon that was popular with all the neighborhood kids that aired on TV during my 1980s childhood years. These robots in disguise have made a comeback to entertain today's generation of kids with a new animated television series. In these adventures from Hasbro Studios, BUMBLEBEE, one of the most popular Transformer characters from the toys and movies, must lead a rogue team of AUTOBOTS to ward off a new threat to the Earth from the dastardly DECEPTICONS. The 26 episode season of Season One for TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE just wrapped up on Cartoon Network.
Miss the first season on Cartoon Network or want to watch it all over again? Shout! Factory has just released a DVD with all 26 episodes of TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE which also has bonus segments including a San Diego Comic-Con Panel presentation, featurettes, and animated shorts. You can find the DVD for purchase at retailers such as Barnes & Noble, Best Buy, Target, and Walmart as well as on the Shout! Factory website. A Geek Daddy also has a TRANSFORMERS: ROBOTS IN DISGUISE -- SEASON ONE DVD to giveaway to one lucky blog reader or social media follower.
To be eligible for this giveaway you must follow @Geekdad248 on Twitter and retweet our original contest tweet embedded above before May 22, 2016 @ 11:59 pm EST. Must be a US resident over the age of 18 to participate. One entry per person and we'll randomly select a winner from all eligible entries.
UPDATE: Congrats to Deb from St. Paul, MN who won the dvd giveaway.
When a CYBERTRONIAN prison ship filled with DECEPTICONS crash lands on Earth and unleashes its prisoners, BUMBLEBEE returns to the planet he once called home with a new team of AUTOBOTS - STRONGARM, SIDESWIPE, FIXIT and GRIMLOCK - to track down the escapees. BUMBLEBEE must balance his job of fighting off evil with being equal parts squad leader and coach to a rascally team that needs constant coaxing to learn how to work together. The results are comical when the cool rebel SIDESWIPE, elite guard cadet STRONGARM, bombastic dinobot GRIMLOCK and the overly-excited FIXIT must balance keeping the team together with chasing and capturing their new enemies in each adventure-filled episode. Along with their new human allies, Denny and Russell, this unlikely team of robots in disguise must protect the Earth while preparing for an ominous threat suited only for a Prime.

The Secret Life of Pets: Easter Teaser
My kids have been looking forward to seeing THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS since they first started seeing its trailers at the theater last year and while they still have a few more months to go before the film debuts they were excited to get another advance peek at the movie with this Easter themed teaser that Illumination Entertainment and Universal Pictures released for the holiday weekend.
THE SECRET LIFE OF PETS' story revolves around a Manhattan apartment building where a dog named Max has his life as a favorite pet turned upside down when his owner brings home a sloppy mongrel named Duke. Max and Duke have to put their quarrels behind them though when they find out that an adorable white bunny named Snowball is building an army of abandoned pets determined to take revenge on all the happy-owned pets and their owners in their building.
This really looks like an original and funny movie that children and kids-at-heart of all ages will enjoy. Our family will absolutely be going to see it after The Secret Life of Pets arrives at movie theaters across the United States on July 8, 2016! For more information, visit thesecretlifeofpets.com

THE WILD LIFE
It's always exciting when you discover something out of the blue that is really darn cool. I just stumbled across an animated movie coming out in September that I hadn't heard of before called THE WILD LIFE that looks perfect for a family outing to the theater. It is a comedic re-telling of the Robinson Crusoe story told from the perspective of the animals who inhabited the island that the castaway was marooned on. I can't count the number of times we've wanted to go to the movie theater with our kids and there just wasn't anything age appropriate for young children to view playing so it is always nice to hear of a new family friendly movie being scheduled a release date.
Look for THE WILD LIFE to arrive at theaters across the United States on September 9, 2016.
Synopsis of The Wild Life
From the over-exuberant parrot Tuesday to the snack-obsessed tapir Rosie, from the persnickety echidna Epi to the acrobatic pangolin Pango, from the ditzy goat Scrubby to the commonsensical kingfisher Kiki and the always-cool chameleon Carmello, things are larger-than-life on a tropical isle that is pure wild animal paradise. Then Robinson Crusoe, a marooned human, arrives in the midst of a furious storm, and their lives are forever changed by this bewildering new “creature.” No matter their differences, castaway human and quirky animals embark on an hilarious new adventure, building the island’s first tree-house and surviving together. But when two conniving members of the animal kingdom — the savage cats Mal & May – pounce into a battle for control of the island, Crusoe and his animal posse must uncover the true power of friendship against all odds.
For more information, visit the movie's official Facebook or Twitter pages.

Debuting on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at Noon (E.T.) will be a brand new 1/2 hour weekly series for the Nickelodeon cable channel which follows two junior high students, Marinette and Adrien, who must juggle their secret identities as the superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir with the crazy antics of normal teen life. There will be weekly new baddies deployed by the villainous Hawk Moth who are out to steal the hero's powers as part of his evil genius plan to take over the world. According to a press release received by A Geek Daddy, "with the help of their magical pets and miraculous jewels Marinette and Adrien, transform into their alter egos, Ladybug and Cat Noir, which are granted powers of speed, strength, agility, and a clear mind." Talking Hot Dog is the Star of new Nickelodeon Animated Series: Pinky Malinky
What happens when you mix together aspects of television shows like Parks & Rec, The Colbert Report, and Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives to create a new animated series that appeals to kids? You get Nickelodeon's Pinky Malinky which follows the everyday life of Pinky, an infectiously positive hotdog living in a human world who shares his unique perspective through a mockumentary of a reality show. Pinky and his friends will talk directly to the camera and audience to share their absurd and silly take on real life in a 20 show first season that recently received the green light to begin production and should debut on Nickelodeon sometime in 2016.
Co-created and co-executive produced by Chris Garbutt and Rikke Asbjoern (The Amazing World of Gumball) and executive produced by Scott Kreamer (Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness) the trio are a part of the Artist Collective, an internal diverse group of experienced creators who mentor and support up-and-coming talent while also collaborating to cultivate, challenge, and inspire Nickelodeon's development pipeline. Pinky Malinky's creators understand that all children at some time or another feel like they don't fit in so they utilize Pinky's undeniable unique point of view as a literal wiener living among people to laugh at struggles they will be familiar with and enjoy a hot dog's unique perspective on being a school-aged kid.
"Pinky Malinky will offer original short form videos and content that will be produced in conjunction with the series for various social media platforms," said Russell Hicks, President, Content Development & Production at Nickelodeon in a press release provided to A Geek Daddy. "In this fact-paced digital age, the online extensions in this brand-new series are another example of how Nickelodeon meets the needs of our kids who want to access content anytime and anywhere."
"We're really happy that Pinky has found a home at Nickelodeon," added Garbutt and Asbjoern. "We've been living with him ourselves for quite a while now, so we're very excited to finally get a chance to share the little fella with the rest of the world! By always reaching for the stars, Pinky pushes himself further than anyone could imagine and proves that being a 'wiener' is only one letter away from being a WINNER!"

New Animated Television Series Flies Onto Nickelodeon's Show Schedule In March: Harvey Beaks
A mild-mannered bird and his two wild best friends embark on a series of hilarious adventures in Nickelodeon’s brand-new animated series Harvey Beaks, debuting Sunday, March 29, at 7:00p.m. (ET/PT). This 26-episode series, created and executive produced by C.H. Greenblatt , tells the story of the unlikely friendship between Harvey, a kid who’s never broken the rules, and Fee and Foo, his two friends who’ve never lived by any. Greenblatt returns to Nickelodeon after beginning his career in animation as a storyboard artist and writer on SpongeBob SquarePants. He later created and executive produced Chowder and was a storyboard artist and writer for The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy at Cartoon Network. Greenblatt also directed his own version of the character Deadman for Cartoon Network's DC Nation shorts.
Greenblatt's newest creation is set in a magical forest and follows one sweet bird on his mission to experience wild adventures with the help of his two best friends. Harvey, Fee and Foo’s connection only grows stronger throughout the series as they push each other into endless fun. On Sunday, March 29, at 7:00p.m. (ET/PT), the series will launch in its regular timeslot with “The Spitting Tree.” Spitting from the highest tree in Littlebark is fun until the kids realize they can’t get back down.
“Carl Greenblatt’s very funny and heart-warming stories fit directly in with Nickelodeon’s DNA and sensibilities,” noted Russell Hicks, President of Content Development and Production, Nickelodeon, in a press release provided to A Geek Daddy blog. “In Harvey Beaks, viewers have the opportunity to discover the joys, triumphs and fears of growing up through thoughtful characters who push their limits and step out of their personal comfort zones.”
Beginning March 26, you visit the Harvey Beaks page on Nick.com and the Nick App to learn more about the show and its characters, get a behind-the-scenes look at the series and play new games including “Harvey Beaks Pe-Choo!” and take the quiz "Which Character Are You?”. Episodes of Harvey Beaks will be available on Nick.com and the Nick App, along with platforms including iTunes, Amazon, Xbox, Google Play, Vudu, Playstation, Hulu and VOD.
Here's a little bit more information on the show's main characters:
HARVEY
Harvey is a
well-behaved kid who lives by the rules and gets a kick out of making
his world a nice, neat and orderly place, but behind his innocence burns
an adventurous, yet thoughtful spirit. He is not a kid who can easily
break rules, so in order to get the most out of life, he re-writes them
in his own earnest way. Where Harvey leads, his best friends, Fee and
Foo always follow. Fee and Foo’s wild nature inspire him to take bigger
risks. With friends like these, Harvey might get into more trouble, but
he will also have more fun.
FEE
Fee is a
kid who sinks her pointy teeth into childhood. She’s fiercely loyal,
confident and dirty. Since she’s never had anyone to tell her what to
do, she does exactly what she wants. As much as Harvey follows rules,
Fee follows her heart. She’s rough and tumble and driven by what seems
fun and interesting in the moment. Like her hair, she’s completely
untamed and wild, willing to risk everything for her friends or her
beliefs.
FOO
Foo is like
a puppy. He likes sticks, eating bugs, running and chewing on things.
Foo is the most impulsive of the three friends. He can be totally
energized one minute and fast asleep the next. Foo considers Harvey his
very best friend and Harvey feels the same, which is nice because Harvey
can teach Foo about taking baths and wearing pants. He has a pure heart
and, if he had sleeves, he would wear it on them.
Tune in to Nickelodeon on Sundays starting March 29th to follow the adventures of Harvey, Fee & Foo in the magical forest of Littlebark.

See the Star Wars Movies LEGOized on Disney XD
Cartoon Network and Disney's cable network equivalent, Disney XD, have featured over the years LEGO themed television specials called the YODA CHRONICLES that are a fun spoof of the Star Wars space opera. These humorous adventures are a show that my kids and I equally enjoy and it is always nice to be able to watch a show together that everyone in the family likes (yes we even find my wife who claims to not really like Star Wars sitting on the couch with us whenever these shows come on chuckling at the jokes and slapstick humor in them). So we were all really excited to hear that based upon the popularity of the YODA CHRONICLES and the new animated hit series STAR WARS: REBELS that Disney XD to help promote the upcoming feature film STAR WARS EPISODE VII: THE FORCE AWAKENS will be retelling the original six movies in half hour LEGOized tv specials.
LEGO / STAR WARS: DROID TALES which will air on Disney XD later this year will consist of five 22-minute episodes that will re-tell the Star Wars saga in chronological order from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace through Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Taking place in a LEGO universe, Droid Tales will start with R2D2 and C3PO beginning to tell the Star Wars story from their perspective during the victory celebration at the Ewok village on Endor that took place at the conclusion of Return of the Jedi. An accidental kidnapping occurs while the droids are reminiscing and viewers are taken on a new adventure that leads to encounters with familiar faces and places that prompt the retelling of the entire saga.
Through a press release, Jill Wilfert, vice president of licensing and entertainment for The LEGO Group, provides some insight into this new LEGO/STAR WARS collaboration:
Since we introduced our first LEGO Star Wars set in 1999, we have seen and heard from countless Star Wars fans who have used LEGO bricks to tell their own version of this timeless story, re-enacting favorite scenes and imagining new story lines. LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales gives us an opportunity to share highlights of the Star Wars story with a sense of humor and excitement that can only be conveyed through the LEGO brick, and will be a fun resource for families as they gear up for the next movie.
Keep your eyes peeled for more information about when LEGO Star Wars: Droid Tales will be airing on Disney XD as the countdown for The Force Awakens December premiere begins.

Disney's Reimagination of the Seven Dwarves has become my Kids Favorite Television Show
Having just turned six years old my twins are at an age where they have outgrown and aren't really interested in "preschool" oriented television shows but are still a little too young for much of the youth focused programming (often referred to as Y7). We came across a show the other day though that is a nice fit for kindergarten/first graders that my wife and I are comfortable with them watching and they just love called The 7 D. The show (rated Y - appropriate for all children) debuted on Disney's XD cable channel last year and is now also being rebroadcast on the Disney and Disney Junior channels as well. It is quirky and funny filled with adventures and gags that put smiles on my son and daughter's face throughout the show.
The premise of The 7 D is that this heroic band of dwarves hasn't met Snow White yet, maybe in this alternate universe they never will, and live in the fantasy land of Jollywood spending their days searching for gold and jewels in their mine and solving problems for their ruler Queen Delightful. Most of these problems involve a pair of villains known as The Glooms (Hildy & Grimwold) who are a bickering married warlock and witch that often are looking to steal some magical gem from the 7 D's mine as part of their plot.
While children may not catch the association, parents will notice the show has quite a few familiar voices in it. When it comes to the bad guys, Hildy Gloom is voiced by Kelly Osbourne (nice to see her working and not just living off her rock star dad Ozzy Osbourne's wealth after the family's reality show went off the air) and Grimwold is narrated by Jess Harnell who also bring the character Chilly to life in one of my children's other favorite tv programs Doc McStuffins. Jay Leno also is in the mix serving as the voice for the Gloom's Crystal Ball that they use to help plan out their mischievous hijinks.
When it comes to the Seven Dwarves, Bill Farmer who has voiced Goofy in numerous Disney productions throws his talents into bringing Doc to life, Perry the Platypus from Phineas & Ferb (aka Dee Bradley Baker) is Dopey, the red M&M from the television commercial promoting the candy (Billy West) portrays Bashful, and the Brain from Pinky & the Brain (Maurice LaMarche) voices Grumpy.
Whoopie Goldberg serves Queen Delightful as the Magic Mirror. Fans of Will & Grace will recognize that the queen of Jollywood is played by the same lady who played Grace's best friend Ellen throughout that series run on tv (Leigh-Allyn Baker). Michael McKean who starred on Laverne & Shirley as the character Lenny and has since been a cast member on Saturday Night Light and appeared in numerous other movies and television shows serves as the queen of Jollywood's uncle - Uncle Humidor.
The 7 D gets A Geek Daddy nod of approval for being a charming and entertaining television program that will amuse both children and kids at heart of any age. Check out the show through your local cable provider or you can purchase episodes and download it digitally through services like iTunes or Amazon Instant Video.
For more 7 D fun you can also download a FREE Mine Train mobile app game for Apple devices. It is pretty easy to play and has you steering a mine car through obstacles as you gather gems. Beware though because there are some in-app purchases in the game so you'll want to turn that feature off before letting kids play.
Click here to download the 7 D Mine Train game on Apple's App Store. There is also a different FREE online game you can play on the Disney website called the 7 D Dwarf Track Builder. Click here to check that out.

Disney Channel Hosts Fall Fairy Festival
My daughter is a big fan of Tinker Bell but she doesn't identify the character from the Peter Pan story but rather from a series of straight to DVD movies that Disney has released over the last few years. There are six Disney Fairies animated movies out, with a seventh being released on March 3, 2015, that feature the character Tinker Bell and her fairy friends from the land of Pixie Hollow. This isn't the mean-spirited sprite as portrayed in Disney's 1953 animated film Peter Pan who really wasn't that nice but rather a kinder gentler likeable version that is easier for audience to embrace as a loveable character. I have to say that not only does my daughter love watching these films, but our whole family finds them enjoyable to watch together with their top notch animation, excellent musical soundtracks, and interesting stories. Any of these movies would be a great selection for a family movie night.
If you haven't seen the Disney Fairy movies or would like to see one or all of them again, you are in luck this week as they will all be shown on cable television. The Disney Channel is hosting a Fall Fairy Festival from November 10-13, 2014 showing these movies in the evening throughout the week.
MONDAY - NOVEMBER 10 @ 8 PM: TINKER BELL (2008)Young fairy Tinker Bell causes chaos in Pixie Hallow when she rejects her predestined occupation as a fixer of broken objects and tries to learn a new trade instead.
TUESDAY - NOVEMBER 11 @ 6:30 PM: THE PIRATE FAIRY (2014)
Tinker Bell and her friends go in search of a wayward fairy who fled Pixie Hollow and joined up with a band of scheming pirates led by the future Captain Hook.
TUESDAY - NOVEMBER 11 @ 8 PM: TINKER BELL & THE LOST TREASURE (2009)
Tinker Bell journeys to save a Pixie Dust Tree.
WEDNESDAY - NOVEMBER 12 @ 8 PM: THE GREAT FAIRY RESCUE (2010)
Tinker Bell and her fairy rival strive to keep secret from humans the very existence of fairies.
THURSDAY - NOVEMBER 13 @ 8PM: SECRET OF THE WINGS (2012)
Tinker Bell and her friends venture into the winter woods to find the secret of fairy wings.
A sixth movie the Pixie Hollow Games (2013) isn't being broadcast as part of Disney Channel Fall Fairy Festival and a seventh movie Legend of the NeverBeast is coming out in 2015.
For more information regarding anything Disney Fairies related visit: www.fairies.disney.com
As we all know kids spend too much time watching television, so I'd encourage you to also check out a great line of comics published by PAPERCUTZ if your children appreciate Disney Fairies. This company has published graphic novel portrayals of many of the Disney Fairies movies plus other comic books containing brand new stories of unique adventures featuring Tinker Bell and her friends. CLICK HERE for a preview of the PAPERCUTZ Disney Fairies collection. We have a few of these graphic novels and my daughter cherishes them. They are very nice to take along on a trip, reading on a rainy day or bedtime stories.
A Geek Daddy Blog gives a nod of approval to both the Disney Fairy animated movies and the PAPERCUTZ comic books as both are very well done family friendly entertainment options.

New STAR WARS television show debuts in October
A brand new Star Wars animated television show titled Rebels will be debuting in October. Star Wars: Rebels is scheduled to premiere on October 3rd with a one hour special Star Wars: Rebels- Sparks of Rebellion on the Disney Channel. Half hour episodes will than routinely air on Monday nights each week on the cable channel Disney XD beginning on October 13th. The premise behind the tv series that is set 5 years before the original Star Wars move "A New Hope" is that a motley crew of a spaceship called the Ghost begins harassing the Empire in an effort to spark a rebellion.
Other characters in the show include:
Kanan Jarrus a survivor of the Empire's purge of the Jedi. After barely surviving Order 66 he went underground hiding in obscurity until discovered by the owner of the Ghost, Hera Syndulla. He is now the leader of the Ghost's crew doing his best to inflict harm against the power of the Empire.
Hera Syndulla is the Twi'lek owner and pilot of the Ghost.
Sabine Wren is a Mandalorian warrior who is an expert in combat, weapons and explosives. She fancies herself as an artist who loves to tag Imperial facilities with graffiti after an attack.Ezra Bridger is a 14 year old pickpocket and con artist who the crew of the Ghost find living on an Outer Rim world. Unknown to him one of the reasons he is able to get out of so many jams is that he is gifted with the ability to use the Force.
To help up the excitement for Rebels, Disney has released four short youtube videos to promote the excitement for this new series:
In “The Machine in the Ghost,” the
rebels’ Ghost starship is under attack by a wave of TIE fighters. Hera
pilots the craft, while Kanan tries to blast the Imperials from the
Ghost’s gunner. While they do evade and shoot down several TIEs, it’s up
to astromech droid Chopper to finish the job – even if he’s reluctant
to do so.
In “Art Attack,” Sabine sneaks into an
Imperial compound, looking to create a diversion for her friends aboard
the Ghost. Spotted by stormtroopers, she proves too quick to be
captured – and leaves behind an explosive surprise.
In “Entanglement,” Zeb fails to meet
with Kanan at a specified rendezvous point…and instead finds himself
joyfully battling many, many stormtroopers.
